HOW OFTEN DO YOU IGNORE ALARMS BECAUSE YOU ASSUME THEY WERE ACCIDENTALLY SET OFF?

You’re resting in your bed and you hear your neighbor’s car or home alarm loudly echo throughout the neighborhood.

Do you look?

Or, do you roll over in your bed because you assume that just like you sometimes do…they accidentally set off their alarm?

In the bible trumpets were historically used as alarms not only to warn, but to announce it was time for something to take place…either way, the trumpet meant take action.

Numbers 10:1-10 (NKJV)

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you. When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey. When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys. And when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but not sound the advance. The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an [a]ordinance forever throughout your generations.

“When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. 10 Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”

Numbers 29:1 (NKJV)

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work. For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets.

Psalm 98:6 (NKJV)

With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King
.

Alarms are meant to be alerts that something is wrong and immediate action needs to be taken. But when those alarms are ignored, not only are the useless, but when something is really going wrong action won’t be taken.

God has given us many alarms throughout His word. He has given us alarms, signs and warnings to get our attention.

However, because God has allowed many of these signs to take place in each generation (so no generation would become complacent) many people ignore the signs and alarms…

2 Peter 3:4 (NKJV)

and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

So please don’t ignore the signs that God’s giving to our generations…

Matthew 24:7-12 (NKJV)

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [a]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

2 Timothy 3:2-5 (NKJV)

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, [a]unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Be careful of how the enemy may be setting the stage by manipulating hearts and minds to accept what God has forbidden…

Daniel 7:8 (NLT)

As I was looking at the horns, suddenly another small horn appeared among them. Three of the first horns were torn out by the roots to make room for it. This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (NKJV)

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Please read the Word of God carefully from the perspective of LOOKING FOR THE SIGNS.

Don’t let your allegiance to traditions, politics, heritage, race and your own personal theology cause you to ignore the trumpets!

Joel 2:1 (NKJV)

Blow the [a]trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the Lord is coming,
For it is at hand:

1 Corinthians 15:52 (NKJV)

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

BE BLESSTIFIED!
