The purpose God has for each of us on this earth is so much greater than us or even our knowledge of our purpose. It isn’t necessary for us to fully know ALL the reasons that God has us here to be successful in fulfilling our purpose. Don’t stress not fully knowing your purpose, just keep working for God with a loyal and sincere heart.
Notice that John the Baptist was not even fully aware of his own purpose…
When asked who he was, he responded…
John 1:19-21 (NKJV)
19 Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”
He said, “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?”
And he answered, “No.”
But Jesus confirmed to His disciples that John fulfilled the prophecy of Elijah returning…
Matthew 17:10-13 (NKJV)
10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming [a]first and will restore all things. 12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.
Be sensitive to the Spirit of God.
Be consistent in reading and studying His word.
Pray for wisdom, understanding, discernment and revelation.
Even if you are unsure of your purpose, God’s will…will be done through your life…
Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
