So many people love the cozy idea of sitting by a warm fire, and sipping egg nog or hot chocolate as they unwrap gifts with family or friends.
So many people get excited when they hear the weather forecaster announce snow is coming.
But, while some people rush the grocery stores for extra food in case they are snowed in…
While some people prepare to cook hot meals and watch the snow fall…
While so many children get excited over the thought of a snow day…
While some say, “Hmmm, what will we eat?”…
Others cringe at the thought of snow coming…
Others wait to see what the grocery stores will throw away…
Others wonder what cooked meals they can find in a dumpster…
Others wonder how they will keep their children warm on a snow day…
Others say, “what will we eat?”…wondering IF? rather than WHAT?!
As we enjoy the blessings of warmth, food and shelter during the Holiday season, let us not forget those who have no place to lay their heads…no place for their children.
Let us remember those who have to struggle looking for someplace to use the bathroom with dignity after a night of sleeping on the street.
Beyond the holiday season, remember your WINTER FUN is someone’s WINTER FEAR.
And, take advantage of the opportunities that God gives you to be a blessing to someone in need. It’s good to PRAY for them, but it’s even better to be the answer to your own prayer for them.
1 John 3:17 (NKJV)
17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

I deal with so many people that like to make themselves “feel good” by helping. They give the Lord no credit and then when this “season” is over those same “feel good” people “look what I did” people go back to their old ways. 😦 It’s sad and pathetic… There is a spirit this time of year but I have come to believe it is not always The Holy Spirit…It’s mostly the “me” spirit. Shared with LOVE ❤

You said it well. Just as people serve the homeless during thanksgiving as if they don’t need to eat all year.

Amen! It’s not about us. Thinking of others is what our Savior would have us do, (Philippians 2:3-8). Thank you for this brilliant reminder. I needed it. 🙂

Though there is no snowfall or winter here, I always remember to bless and share the joy of the season with others. Great message. I nominated you for the Liebster Award.
