Shame on those who claim to be in the Body of Christ but ‘cherry-pick’ the sins they feel are important.

Is homosexuality a sin? YES!

Is abortion a sin? YES!

Are these the only two sins that God prioritizes. NO!

Look at what God said through the prophet Isaiah…

Isaiah 10  (NKJV)

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees,
Who write misfortune,
Which they have prescribed
2 To rob the needy of justice,
And to take what is right from the poor of My people,
That widows may be their prey,
And that they may rob the fatherless.

What will you do in the day of punishment,
And in the desolation which will come from afar?
To whom will you flee for help?
And where will you leave your glory?
Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners,
And they shall fall [a]among the slain.”

For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.

For those of you who require New Testament support, notice what Yeshua told the Pharisees and religious leaders. He rebuked them sharply for their hypocrisy…

Matthew 23:23  (NKJV)

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the WEIGHTIER matters of the law: JUSTICE and MERCY and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

The spirit of the Pharisees is alive and well in many of those who claim to be Christians who act as though Jesus dies and gave them ONE NARROW NARRATIVE.

If you are a Christian, and have never spoken out against social injustice…

If you are a Pastor and have never preached against social and racial inequality and inequity…

If you don’t have compassion for the poor in the land…

Not only are you are not being true to the entire message of Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ, but the spirit of the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes and High Priests during the Lords earthly ministry still lives in you today.

You prove on which side of history you would have stood by your heart and attitude today…HOW YOU PROVE WHICH SIDE YOU WOULD HAVE CHOSEN IF YOU LIVED IN BIBLE DAYS BY YOUR ATTITUDE TODAY…

I pray that God softens your heart through peace to submit to His love, His will and His entire word.

  1. Well homosexuality is condemning even for those who approve those who practice it. Jesus himself in Matthew 5-7 states the jots and tittles of the law remain in force which includes all that sexual sin in Lev. 18 and the punishments in Lev. 20. The apostles beginning with Paul (only apostle ordained by Jesus to Gentiles Acts 9: 15) in Romans 1 and the Holy Spirit and the other Apostles in Jerusalem at Acts 5, Paul there to teach the Jewish Apostles the gospel of grace. So accepting sexual sin as OK is not OK.

  2. Yes. But I have a fully formed opinion from scripture and there it is. No one should be preaching about sin to begin with. The gospel is about new life in the Spirit of Christ who transforms us from and through our sin into the image of Christ. Jesus did not die and rise from the dead to make bad people good. He died and rose and is forever alive to make dead people alive.

    1. Not sure if I understand your point, but homosexuals need to know their lifestyle is wrong, but that they are still welcome to the Body of Christ so they can overcome that sin. They are weak, and we must bear that weakness to help them.

  3. I think people are quiet on social injustice because being honest about what we are harboring in our hearts is embarrassing and requires dealing with something we as a church have been justifying instead of condemning. Jesus balanced truth and grace, caught in the tension without excluding one or the other.

  4. I think the church got way way way off track when they took to the mindset we WE US WE ARE the definition for the world. When persons meet the Holy Spirit they are born and transformed. The whole Jerry Falwell sort of approach is unnecessary. People have the law written in their hearts. Persons living outside God’s norms know somewhere inside.

When I was 17 gramma gave me a Bible. I started at the front of the book. Things were fine till I got to Leviticus. “And if he curses his parents he shall be put to death. I was deathly afraid of God after that.

Until I heard a song. “Just Come By Faith Be Not Afraid. For Your Ticket Has been Paid By A Man Named Jesus Christ From Gallilee.” The Spirit did his work and that is how it happened. I was dead in my sins and in the next instant I was alive in Christ.

  5. Minister,

There is nothing the Bible about abortion. The closest you can get is “child sacrifice to Satan in the OT or the massacre of the Holy innocents in the NT. Therefore abortion is “unthinkable” to God, is the same sin as Satan, same sin as Judas and same sin as Cain all at the same time and cries out to God for vengeance. That is why abortion is the worst sin possible. 60 million murdered.

  6. But they are big ones that have pretty much been accepted, so yes we should address them. However, we should look at ourselves as well so good point
