1 Peter 2:4-5(NKJV)
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Do get tired of getting stepped on? Well, that’s what rocks do…get stepped on.
Do you get tired of being the ‘strong one’? That’s what rocks do…provide stability.
Do you get tired of holding everyone else up? That’s what rocks are…a firm foundation.
Christ is a living stone, but so are we…
Who are you being strong for? 1 Peter 2:5 says we are also living stones! We are a part of God’s spiritual house, and just as Jesus is our Rock…He is building us up to be rocks in the lives of others.
So, the next time you feel like you’re being stepped on or carrying everyone else’s weight. Praise God for trusting you to be a rock.
BE BLESSTIFED!
OK, so now you’re stepping on some toes! I don’t want to hear that God trusts me to be a rock in my marriage. I want to wallow in self-pity and anger, and blame everything on him. LOL But God is gently redirecting my thoughts and your words about being a rock, especially that part about being tired of being treated like a rock, is going to help a lot in the days to come. God bless you for your faithfulness in sharing your inspiring and practical take on God’s word.

Thanks so much. God ministered to me as I wrote this, actually several months ago. I decided to publish it again. God bless you and your marriage:-)

How appropriate for Peter to be the one to pen this under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit due to the meaning of his name!
