WHEN PEOPLE SAY, “GOD SAID” (MISQUOTING GOD)…

Posts and statements like the one in the image are encouraging, get a lot of amens, and ‘LIKES’, but they are dangerous.

BE CAREFUL when people QUOTE FOR GOD as if He said it word-for-word.

Be careful when people say, “God told me to tell you.”

Especially when…

  1. It’s not scripture.
  2. It’s too universal. It’s not true for everyone who reads this… “THIS WEEK” as stated in the image. Some people are going through storms, discipline, and ‘dry seasons’.
  3. God doesn’t bless everyone the same way at the same time.
  4. If a miracle doesn’t happen this week, it can cause people to lose faith. It can cause people to lose faith and discredit our faith much like television ‘faith-healers’ who seem to never go to the hospital.
There’s a difference in being inspired by God and QUOTING as if He said it verbatim.
  5. Even Old Testament prophets weren’t always able to give the exact how, when and where.

There’s a difference in being inspired by God and quoting Him with our words as if He said it verbatim.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV)

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

No prophetic statement will contradict God’s order.
