GOD’S RAINBOW IS ABOUT HIS PROMISE & NOT PRIDE…

My wife found some beautiful, fun rainbow colored curtains for our granddaughter’s playroom. After we put them up, being visible from the outside, we both thought what if people think we are supporting ‘Pride’?

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise…

Genesis 9:13-15  (NKJV)

13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Genesis 9:13-15  (NKJV)

God promised to never destroy the world again with water. Yes, there have been catastrophic floods since then, but none like the one in Noah’s time.

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise and I believe that to be true.

In the past few years those who wish to legitimize the sin of homosexuality have claimed the rainbow as the symbol of their movement. First of all I don’t hate anyone who is gay, but I do believe it is a sin equal to fornication, adultery, and other sexual sins. I also admit that I’m not perfect…my family and God continually reminds me of the areas in which I need to grow. However, it is our responsibility as Christians to hold one another accountable, so calling out sin is not judging someone, as some love to shout when someone else calls out any of the works of the flesh…

Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV)

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

That being said, I feel using the rainbow to symbolize PRIDE is wrong for two reasons…

Because the cause is a sin…

1 Corinthians 6:9-10  (NKJV)

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

And, because pride is a sin…

1 Corinthians 6:9-10  (NKJV)

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

So, the curtains hang in her playroom reminding us of God’s promise… we reclaim it in the name of Yeshua the Som of God.

BE BLESSTIFIED!

  1. Yes! I told my kids the other day, “They can’t have it. God created it as a sign of His faithfulness not to destroy us with a flood again and it makes a mockery of Him with flounting sin.” They just can’t have it and defile it. The rainbow is beautiful! Good for you!😃❤

  2. please stop trying to mask homophobia as love. and about Corinthians 6:9-10, if you do some research it being about homosexuality is only one translation, the original words meaning is unclear but it could also mean it’s simply condemning a man from forcing, key word there, sexual acts upon another. the rainbow can mean multiple things, pride doesn’t mean that it’s taking away its meaning of God’s promise. also, the pride flag was originally also meant to include turquoise and pink, just pink fabric was too hard to get and it was harder to make a flag with seven colors. this isn’t me trying to be hateful or anything like that towards you, but what’s been said in this can be really damaging. people actually take their lives over this stuff. and it’s really heartbreaking. imagine someone told you being straight was a sin. you’d feel as though there’s something wrong with you, even though there isn’t.

  3. This is so disgusting and not Christ like. Very hypocritical from those that are suppose to love thy neioghbor. There are many things Jesus said and hating on homosexuals was not one of them. I think the true sinful and satanic acts are how twisted his followers have become into thinking they are the true righteous. Branding their religion like a weapon when what he preached the most was to love one another and to not cast the first stone.

    1. Calling out sin isn’t hate, whether it’s homosexual or heterosexual sexual sin, pride, arrogance and any other sin. It’s our responsibility. As a minister, I won’t officiate a heterosexual wedding if they divorced for the wrong reasons. Both Old and New Testament make it clear homosexuality is sin, just like promiscuous heterosexual activity. I’m not perfect myself…and when someone calls out when I’m wrong doesn’t equate to hatred or phobia. Yeshua the Messiah the reiterated that God created MALE and FEMALE for marriage.
      Matthew 19:4-6
      New King James Version
4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who [a]made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

The words of Yeshua stipulate clearly ONLY male and female. He would have also said man joined to man and woman to woman if that were okay. The bible is very specific to the point of being sometimes redundant.

There’s a difference in hating people and disagreeing with sinful lifestyles. Everyone is born with innate sinful desires that have to be controlled with the help of the Holy Spirit…some people are innately mean, violent, addicted to sex, arrogant, greedy…these are all sins just like homosexuality. Just because I disagree with people who habitually smoke weed doesn’t mean I hate them, so that generalization has been weaponized. May Adonai Yehovah bless you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah.
