THE HYPOCRISY IN WHICH ‘RIOTS’ ARE TO BE RESPECTED (IT’S ALL ABOUT THE NARRATIVE)…

I by no means condone rioting, looting and destroying property. It is counterproductive and actually hardens the hearts of some who support whatever the cause may be.

However, rioting because of injustice is nothing new. Injustice may not be an excuse, but it has been a reason…a spark to the explosion.

Even the religious leaders, the system that was threatened by Yeshua the Messiah ( Jesus Christ) knew this. They wanted to kill him many times before the crucifixion, but relented, seeking an opportune time. Why? Because they feared the people would riot.

Luke 22:1-2 (NKJV)

22 Now (B)the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. 2 And (C)the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people.

It’s interesting how so many Americans were taught to respect the ‘accepted’ rebellious protest of the Boston Tea Party. This act of vandalism and deception was considered honored and noble. Remember, they vandalized and destroyed property disguised as Native Americans so it would be blamed on them. What if that happened today?

The fact is that the American Civil War was one big, violent ‘riot’ of the Southern states over what they called ‘States Rights’, but we all know what right was most precious to them… slavery.

They consider that cause so honorable that even public institutions are named to honor rebellion, for example, The Ole Miss Rebels. Rebels? Rebellion is being revered, and those who do so feel if you don’t feel the same you ‘don’t know history’. No, others just don’t agree with or accept that narrative.

People want to own the narrative. When Jesus came, He changed the narrative, and the system didn’t like it….

Luke 23:5 (NKJV)

5 But they were the more fierce, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.

The Apostles were accused of the same…

Acts 21:20–21 (NKJV)

20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord. And they said to him, “You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all pzealous for the law; 21 but they have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.

Rebellion and riots are nothing new. And, I believe in peaceful protest. But, how those riots, rebellions and protests are viewed is not determined through ONE narrative.

Never forget the first rebellion in heaven that got Lucifer kicked out…

Luke 10:18 (NKJV)

18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

BE BLESSTIFIED!

  1. Good word, brother. Yes, the American ‘Revolution’ can be considered the American ‘Rebellion’ in Canada and certainly to Great Britain. It’s a matter of perspective. But the righteous rebellion against sin is of God; all other rebellions are of the flesh. The New Testament calls these riots as both riots (Titus 1:6; 1 Peter 4:4; 2 peter 2:3) and seditions (choosing sides according to the flesh and not according to the Spirit of God)(Galatians 5:20). In Luke 23:19, we understand that Barabas, the murderer which they released instead of Jesus, had committed sedition and murder (no doubt during his rioting rampage). In Acts 24:5, the Jews accused Paul of instigating riots. These are works of the flesh, and too many call themselves ‘Christian’ who support the riots; they are clearly deceived by Satan.

  2. Preacher, this is excellent discourse in all directions. This should be noted rioting still is NOT condoned in the bible as a mechanism for change and I’m not suggesting you’re saying that at all. Taking this to even a higher level is war and of course, that was promoted in old testament times for sure. We justify it today where there is no scriptural evidence for it in New Testament. No, I’m not saying I wouldn’t fight, I’m saying this is a great opportunity for honest, open discourse. Thank you Brother for the forum. I hope many take opportunity with it. God Bless you.
