Matthew 26:41 (NKJV)

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

This powerful warning from our Lord isn’t just about those so-called BIG sins on which we sometimes place our focus…

But on the main sin that plagued Israel, and Judah in the Old Testament.

The turning of the heart AGAINST…

Think about this, the most wise man to ever live, King Solomon, had allowed himself to be influenced to turn his heart from the Lord…

1 Kings 11:9 (NKJV)

So the Lord became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the Lord God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,

AGAINST God…

AGAINST those you love…

AGAINST God’s church…

AGAINST the Word of God…

AGAINST your purpose…

AGAINST your calling…

AGAINST integrity…

AGAINST honor…

AGAINST your character…

AGAINST what is good…

AGAINST what is decent…

AGAINST what is right according to God’s word…

AGAINST the will of God for your life.

Look at the verbs in that warning…

WATCH…

Watch very closely the events, circumstances and situations of each day…very carefully.

Be mindful and cognizant of how the enemy is trying to manipulate situations to turn your heart…AGAINST.

PRAY…

Pray that God bless you to maintain His integrity…His character…and your heart.

As you go through this day.

When the…

Unexpected…

Uncomfortable…

Unreasonable…

Unfortunate…

Uncontrollable…

And what the enemy wants to be the Unforgiveable…

Don’t let him turn your heart…

AGAINST.

God bless you! I'm a husband, father and ordained Minister since 1996. I serve as an Associate Minister at Oak Spring Church Arlington TN, a suburb of Memphis. I'm a professional Copywriter for a Fortune 500 company, published Gospel songwriter and owner of an independent label, Al-Go-Rhythm Music. My main spiritual gift is Exhortation...I'm a natural encourager. I love the word of God and sharing it from a "Wow, I never thought of it like that before" perspective. There's so much fresh revelation in God's word that is just as relevant today as it was as it unfolded. I hope my daily devotionals enhance your walk with God, taking you beyond BLESSED to BLESSTIFIED.
