Reblog from 10/2/16 in case you missed it…

“I think I’ll relax and study my bible over a glass of wine”. Uh oh! I’m quite certain that statement made many of my fellow Christians cringe. I’m sure it may push limits of some people’s personal theology…many of my fellow Christians will quickly tell you that you shouldn’t defile the temple of God (and we shouldn’t).

Many of my fellow Christians will piously tell you, “Ohhh no! I don’t drink alcohol”, while at the same time many of the same people consume huge amounts of sugar, fat, sodium, artificial ingredients, smoke, over-the-counter and prescription drugs etc., etc., etc., that they know are harmful to their bodies, or temples of God (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Please don’t look at me or any other minister or leader as if I have it
together…because I don’t.
No matter how anointed, gifted or talented someone may be, God doesn’t give anyone ALL the answers. Even the greatest men and women of God struggle for their own answers sometimes. One thing I’m certain of is that even though I don’t know all the answers, I know THE ANSWER. Jesus Christ. He’s THE ANSWER.
No matter what we are going through in life, He’s our only source of JOY, PEACE and most importantly SALVATION.
He said that no one comes to the Father, but by Him (John 14:6).
He and the Father are ONE. He and God are not THEY, but HE.
I encourage you today to open your bible and spend some quality with God, who is the source of all your answers. Don’t let my devotionals, or anyone else’s be a substitute for reading and studying God’s word for yourself. Many people claim they don’t have time to read and study, but the fact that you’re reading this right now proves that you do. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to YOURSELF approved.
I will continue to share what God places on my heart as He gives it, but I don’t have all the answers. Preachers open the scriptures, give us fresh revelation, and equip us for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12), but you have to study for yourself.
Open your bible, pray for God to open your understanding, and study because ALL your answers are in God’s Word.
