WHY CHARLEMAGNE IS NOT ‘THA GOD’ (BLASPHEMY ISN’T COOL)…

People get upset when you insult their father, mother or favorite politician. I get upset when you insult my God!

“Hallowed be your Name” means “May your Name be KEPT holy”. Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ, taught us in the Model prayer that referencing God should always be kept HOLY and never taken lightly.

For those of us who believe in God through His only Son and take the Word of God seriously, blasphemy is a big deal.

To make it simple, blasphemy is…

Elevating humans to God’s level…

Reducing God to human level…

Making God equal to man…

Making idol gods equal to the Lord God of Israel from Everlasting to Everlasting…

Attributing the works of God to the devil…

And, just plain making jokes about or belittling the sovereign God of our creation.

This is why the religious leaders continued to accuse Jesus, the Son of God, of blasphemy…

Luke 5:21 (NIV)

21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, โ€œWho is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?โ€(A)

This is why Jesus warned them when they accused Him of having an unclean spirit…

Mark 3:28-30 (NKJV)

28 โ€œAssuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnationโ€โ€” 30 because they said, โ€œHe has an unclean spirit.โ€

So when people like the popular radio/television/social media personality Lenard McKelvey calls himself by the name Charlemagne Tha God (it bothers me to even type that)…it is just as offensive as insulting one’s father or mother.

It’s an insult to God’s holiness, reverence and Oneness.

It’s foolishness.

Especially because he chose that moniker it because he was quoted as saying “IT SOUNDED COOL”. I’ve read was raised in a Christian home and now claims to be a Muslim. However, they consider it blasphemy too.

He even has a talk show called THE GOD’S HONEST TRUTH, referring to himself.

So, if he wants to foolishly blaspheme, that’s his business. But, he is provoking others to blaspheme just to address or refer to him.

Call no man or woman god…

Not seriously…

Not for fun…

It may be marketable, but it’s not cool.

No matter how much ego, notoriety, money, influence, intelligence, wisdom or perceived power one may have…

No one who DIES can LIVE up to that claim.

WHY GOD DOES NOT NEED AN ORIGIN STORYโ€ฆ

BE BLESSTIFIED!

WHY WE DON’T HAVE TO SPECIFICALLY ASK GOD FOR ‘EVERYTHING’ WE NEED ‘EVERY TIME’ WE PRAY…

Pray is such as special gift from the God of our creation.

We may not have instant and direct access to the President, the governor, the mayor, the CEO, the Athletic Director, your pastor or even one another sometimes…

But, we always have direct access to God through our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ).

the Bible teaches us through prayers and supplications to make our requests made known to God…

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

There have been times that after I have finished praying, I have wondered…did I miss something?

I thanked God.

I asked for forgiveness of my sins.

I prayed for provision, protection and other things.

I prayed for others…

Did I forget something?

But, then I remembered that we are created in the image of God. That means that we can have His character…His essence.

We can love like Him. We can nurture like Him. We can take care of our children the way He takes care of His children.

So, our children don’t have to make a point to specifically ask every day for us to:

Feed them…

Protect them…

Provide the things they need.

The fact is that many times if they simply come to us, unsolicited…

If they approach us ‘out of the blue’ and with obvious sincerity expressing, I LOVE YOU…and we know that it’s real.

That sincere and unselfish expression of love provokes us to WANT to do something to show them how much we love them. Sometimes it makes us want to do something special for them.

I think we have that reaction because we are created in God’s image. Maybe He sometimes reacts the same way towards us when we bow heads prayer or lift our hands in praise and unselfishly, sincerely express I LOVE YOU! I TRUST YOU! I BLESS YOU! And, I JUST WANT YOU TO BE PLEASED WITH ME!

Remember, prayer isn’t only giving God a laundry list of our needs, but an opportunity to express our love for Him.

Every now and then, just thank God and tell Him that you love Him.

Psalm 103:1-2 (NKJV)

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

5 THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN YOU’RE FEELING DEPRESSED ABOUT THE BAD DECISIONS YOU’VE MADE…

We have all been there. Those moments when you aren’t angry at God. You aren’t angry at God. You aren’t angry at the world…you’re angry at yourself and the sins, bad decisions and mistakes you have made.

Most of the time we feel this way because we’re living out the consequences of those mistakes, or it’s because we are silently noticing how our decisions have had a negative affect on those we love.

Yes, there are things beyond our control. Yes, there are times the world hasn’t been fair to us. And, yes there are times that God could have moved on our behalf and He didn’t.

But when we’re honest with ourselves, much of the difficulty we face in life is a result of our own sins or bad decisions.

When we admit this to ourselves, it can lead to moments or seasons of depression. So, what do you do?

1. REMEMBER THOSE USED BY GOD IN THE BIBLE WERE FAR FROM PERFECT

Remember that everyone in the bible who was used by God was far from perfect. From Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to the patriarchs. From Noah to Moses to David to Peter to Paul. From Sarah to Rebecca to Miriam to Job’s wife…the men and women in the bible made horrible mistakes. However, they were still used by God.

2. YOU DIDN’T CATCH GOD BY SURPRISE WHEN YOU MESSED UP

God was not surprised when he sinned with Bathsheba. God knew that was going to happen when He anointed David king years before. Also know that YOU didn’t catch God by surprise when you messed up. Especially if it’s due to one of the weaknesses that He gave you. Many of our weaknesses are innate. Some people are naturally horrible with managing money. Others have an unquenchable appetite for sex that can only be controlled with the help of God’s Holy Spirit. While other people have a natural tendency to quickly get angry and act before thinking. These are all weakness that we need God’s help to overcome. This is His way of nurturing a relationship to keep us close to Him…but too many times we allow our weaknesses to overpower our strengths. Never forget that His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses…

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)

8ย Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.ย 9ย And He said to me,ย โ€œMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.โ€ย Therefore most gladlyย I will rather boast in my infirmities,ย that the power of Christ may rest upon me.ย 10ย Thereforeย I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christโ€™s sake.ย For when I am weak, then I am strong.

3. GOD MADE YOU AND KNOWS THE CHALLENGES OF LIVING IN ‘FLESH’

God knows that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41)

He has compassion on us when we are repentant about our ‘human’ moments…

Psalm 103:10-14 (NKJV)

10ย He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

11ย For as the heavens are high above the earth,
Soย great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12ย As far as the east is from the west,
Soย far has Heย removed our transgressions from us.
13ย As a father pitiesย hisย children,
Soย theย Lordย pities those who fear Him.
14ย For Heย [a]knows our frame;
He remembers that weย areย dust
.

4. GOD CAN DELIVER US FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR SINS, BAD DECISIONS AND WEAKNESSES

God is a keeper ( Yehovah Raah, The Lord is our Shepherd) and is able to sustain us in spite of our mistakes. There are those who have made the same mistakes you have and have lost much more… have suffered much more… and some didn’t even survive. But, He kept you…sustained you… nurtured you… and had mercy on you through your weakest, darkest moments. David remained king after he repented and remained a man after God’s heart. God restored to Job twice as much as he had after he prayed for his friends who made his ordeal much worse (Job 42:10-17). After denying Christ, Peter went on to be one of the most influential Apostles. No matter what you’ve done, if you repent and it’s God’s will, He can deliver you from the consequences of your sins, bad decisions and weaknesses. Especially if it’s an innate weakness He gave you. Make this prayer a part of your regular prayer life:

“Heavenly father, I truly repent of how I have let you down. Please forgive me and if it’s your will deliver me from the consequences of my sins, bad decisions and weakness.”

5. REMEMBER THAT GOD ALLOWS US MOMENTS TO LAMENT AS LONG AS WE STILL PROCLAIM OUR TRUST IN HIM

One of the most beautiful things about the Psalms is that they teach us how to express our regret and even question Him in respect as long as we end those moments reaffirming our trust in Him.

Psalm 13 (NIV)

1ย How long,ย Lord? Will you forget meย forever?
ย ย ย ย How long will you hide your faceย from me?
2ย How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
ย ย ย ย and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
ย ย ย ย How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3ย Look on meย and answer,ย Lordย my God.
ย ย ย ย Give light to my eyes,ย or I will sleep in death,
4ย and my enemy will say, โ€œI have overcome him,โ€
ย ย ย ย and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5ย But I trust in your unfailing love;
ย ย ย ย my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6ย I will singย theย Lordโ€™s praise,
ย ย ย ย for he has been good to me.

So, don’t be too hard on yourself wen you’re feeling down and depressed. God made you and He knows you. Just as parents don’t enjoy seeing their children cry when they are truly sorry of their mistakes, God is compassionate. Do just what David did as he lamented the kidnapping of their women and children and bore the blame of those closest to him. Encourage and strengthen yourself in the LORD and keep it moving! Remember, God gave him the victory then too.

1 Samuel 30 (NKJV)

Now it happened, when David and his men came toย Ziklag, on the third day, that theย Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire,ย 2ย and had taken captive theย women and those whoย wereย there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carriedย themย away and went their way.ย 3ย So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.ย 4ย Then David and the people whoย wereย with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.ย 5ย And Davidโ€™s twoย wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive.ย 6ย Now David was greatly distressed, forย the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people wasย [a]grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters.ย But David strengthened himself in theย Lordย his God.

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU SAY, “GOD IS NOT THROUGH WITH ME YET…”

There’s a very popular Comedian/Actor/Show Host who has an exceptionally successful career. One of the many hats he wears is that of a radio show host…the show is fast paced, fun and entertaining.

However, he begins his radio show each morning with a very emotional and impactful spiritual monologue. His statements are encouraging and inspirational, and he always gives God glory, BUT during the remainder of his show, he often uses strong language, frequently using profanity that the bible clearly tells us that we shouldnโ€™t do…

Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)

29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

 Ephesians 5:3-4 (NKJV)

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

In reference to ‘cussing’, he will often assert, โ€œGod is not through with me yet.โ€ Which is true, but we ALL need to be very careful about our attitude when it comes to this statement.

First of all, Iโ€™M NOT JUDGING THIS MAN because we have all (and still do) sin and fall short of the glory of God. We all have room to grow. I have respect both for him and his accomplishments, but I have to be responsible as a minister of God.

Calling out sin, correcting, encouraging, admonishing, instructing and warning one another is not judging…it’s our responsibility.

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

When you have a level of prominence that allows you to reach and influence millions, you bear a great level of responsibility when you are speaking on behalf of God in the name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ.

Here are two problems with sometimes FLIPPANTLY saying what we want…doing what we want…then stating… “God ain’t through with me yet!”

First of all, we must not be guilty of validating our sinful behavior and bad habits to those who may be weaker in the faith or unbelievers by โ€˜justifyingโ€™ our behavior at the time with, โ€œGod is not through with me yetโ€…

Second, we must not use โ€œGod is not through with me yetโ€ to hold on to habits, behavior and attitudes that we simply arenโ€™t trying hard enough to stop. Especially when we know better and can do better.

The word of God has commanded us throughout the New Testament toโ€ฆ

โ€œPut offโ€ Colossians 3: 8, Ephesians 4:22 (NKJV)

โ€œPut awayโ€ Ephesians 4:25 (NKJV)

โ€œLet allโ€ฆbe put away from youโ€ Ephesians 4:31 (NKJV)

โ€œLay asideโ€ Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)

God has given us the power and responsibility to stop ourselves.

Many people pray that God will, โ€œTake the sin out of meโ€โ€ฆhowever, thereโ€™s no personal level of accountability, effort, commitment or love and dedication in being so weak that God has to make us stop.

We as believers must be very careful not to take for granted or take advantage of Godโ€™s abundant grace and mercy.

Remember what God told us through the Apostle Paulโ€ฆ

Romans 6:1-2 (NKJV)

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

So many times we can find ourselves sayingโ€ฆ

โ€œGod knows my heart.โ€

Or

โ€œIโ€™m taking baby stepsโ€

We want to always make sure that we arenโ€™t taking baby steps, when God is ready for us to walk.

You donโ€™t want God to become โ€˜through with youโ€™ before you put forth enough effort to change.

7 REASONS GOD HATES COMPLAINING…

wp-1496764932947.

The rich young ruler in the books of Matthew 19 and Mark 10 told Jesus that he kept all of the commandments from his youth up, but the Lord quickly reminded him that he was lacking something.

Thatโ€™s true for all of us. No matter how much we may try to live upright, we will always remain lacking in some area.

You may not be a fornicator, an adulterer, a drunk, a murdererโ€ฆyou may go to church every time the doors open. You may be very generous in your giving โ€ฆ

BUT DO YOU COMPLAIN?

God HATES complaining. He doesn’t hate complainers, but He does hate it when we complain. One of Israelโ€™s greatest, most consistent sins while in the wilderness was that of complaining and murmuring. In fact, it was their complaining that made an 11-day trip last 40 years.

God hates complaining so much he allowed His own children to suffer death to serve as an example of the level of judgment that complaining deservesโ€ฆ

1 Corinthians 10:10 (NKJV)

10 nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

But, donโ€™t we have a right to complain sometimes? Especially when some things are beyond our control? Why does God hate complaining so much?

HERE ARE 7 REASONS WHY GOD HATES COMPLAINING SO MUCH…

1.COMPLAINING IS THE OPPOSITE OF THANKSGIVING

It doesnโ€™t get more clear than thisโ€ฆ

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Plain and simpleโ€ฆGod expects us to be thankful and content in all things (Philippians 4:11-13). There is not one situation when one is complaining that they could not instead find a reason to give thanks or praise. In all of the Psalms where the psalmist was questioning God about troubles did the Psalm not end with praise and thanks giving. (Psalm 6, Psalm 13, Psalm 35, Psalm 94 are just a few). There is a difference in a humble lamentation and an arrogant complaint.

2. COMPLAINING POISONS YOUR ATTITUDE

If weโ€™re honest with ourselves, complaining never makes us feel better. To the contrary if weโ€™re angry it makes us more angry. If weโ€™re frustrated it makes us more frustrated, if weโ€™re discontent it makes us more discontent. Whatever our negative attitude, complaining just makes it more negative. Most of the time we even wear it on our expressions. We look angry and unsatisfied. It takes us from beyond a bad mood to a bad attitude. When we have a bad attitude long enough, it becomes our characterโ€ฆmore on that in a moment.

3. COMPLAINING INFECTS THE ATTITUDES OF OTHERS

How many times have you felt perfectly fine and content about something or someone until someone complained? Complaining is contagious. When we share our negative discontent it can have the same negative affect on someone else’s attitude as well, especially if they are spiritually or emotionally weak.

When we spread discontent, animosity or just a negative attitude we become a stumbling block, and we must always remember that is something that the Lord hates tooโ€ฆ

Matthew 18:6 (NKJV)

โ€œWhoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

4. COMPLAINING IMPLIES WE DONโ€™T TRUST GOD

This is huge! God had led Israel and promised them โ€˜a land flowing with mild and honeyโ€™. However, when things got tough, they continually complained and lamented that they wished they had never left Egypt.

Exodus 14:12  (NKJV)

12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, โ€˜Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptiansโ€™? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.โ€

Exodus 16:3 (NKJV)

And the children of Israel said to them, โ€œOh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.โ€

Complaining in difficult circumstances said to God then and still does today, that we donโ€™t trust Him. Remember that through everything that Job went through did he never BLAME God of charge Him foolishly (Job 1:22).

Even if our circumstances are beyond our control, we must remember that God is sovereign to do what He pleases with His creation for however it suits His divine purpose, and we must trust Him in that.

5. GOD TAKES IT PERSONAL WHEN WE COMPLAIN AGAINST HIS ANOINTED

Itโ€™s Godโ€™s prerogative to choose whom He pleases to lead His people. Even though these leaders are mere men and women, He still expects us to submit to them. Notice Godโ€™s level of anger when the people murmured against Moses and Aaronโ€ฆ

Numbers 14:41-47(NKJV)

41 On the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, saying, โ€œYou have killed the people of the Lord.โ€ 42 Now it happened, when the congregation had gathered against Moses and Aaron, that they turned toward the tabernacle of meeting; and suddenly the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared. 43 Then Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of meeting. 44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 45 โ€œGet away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.โ€ And they fell on their faces. 46 So Moses said to Aaron, โ€œTake a censer and put fire in it from the altar, put incense on it, and take it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the Lord. The plague has begun.โ€ 47 Then Aaron took it as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people.

We must be very careful of what we say about a man or woman of God, even when they make a mistake or have a human moment. Notice that God did not tell David that he could no longer be king even after he slept with Uriahโ€™s wife and then had him killed (2 Samuel 12). David suffered the consequences, but that did not disqualify his anointing.

6. COMPLAINING SHIFTS RESPONSIBILITY FROM OURSELVES

When Iโ€™m honest with myself. Much of what I complain about is the consequences of my own mistakes and actions. Yes, there are things that happen beyond our control. Misfortunes, storms, sicknesses etc. But, many times we will find ourselves complaining about relationships, jobs, purchases, situations and circumstances that either we prayed for or God gave us to benefit us.

As early as in the garden of Eden, rather than accept his responsibility for choosing to eat the fruit himself, Adam blamed his wifeโ€ฆ

Genesis 3:12 (NKJV)

12 Then the man said, โ€œThe woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.

7. COMPLAINING LEAVES A BAD TESTIMONY

As I mentioned earlier, when we express our dissatisfaction through complaining, and a negative mood and attitude, it can become our character. This is very importantโ€ฆ

God expects us to set the standard of how to handle difficult circumstances.

When we react with negativity we have allowed that to become our testimony in that situation. When we allow our complaints to become go beyond moods to attitudes, we can allow that to become or come across as our character, especially in the limited context of other peopleโ€™s exposure to us, or what they hear about us. Our character or perceived character can become our testimony.

Once we have mishandled a negative situation, our reputation may never recover. We don’t want that to become our testimony.

So, what to you do when you have a legitimate โ€˜complaintโ€™?

Remember this. Itโ€™s not necessarily the fact that you disagree that makes it a complaint. Itโ€™s the fact that you disagree negatively. That you express your discontent or lament in a spirit of HUMILITY AND POSITIVITY.

Thereโ€™s a difference in negative discontent and positive discontent.

Pray to God for the wisdom to handle your negative circumstances with grace and in a positive manner, and donโ€™t get caught up in the sometimes overlooked sin of complaining.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THINGS YOU HATE ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE…

wp-1490505260416.jpg

Relationships make our lives richerโ€ฆ.better. God created us because He wanted relationship with us.

As our relationships evolve, whether it be marriage, parent/child, siblings or friends…we are also all evolving as individuals.

For example, If you’ve been married any number of years, then neither of you are the same people you were when you first married.

The truth is some things get better, and some things don’t.

There will always be some things, attitudes, behaviors, moods, etc., that you hate about those who you love most….it doesn’t mean you hate them.

In fact, daily living and loving beyond those things is what makes it love.

Think about God…do you think He is always pleased with you?

Are there ways He is still expecting you to change?

Even at our best, we donโ€™t measure up go Godโ€™s level of righteousnessโ€ฆ

Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV)

But we are all like an unclean thing,And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

Itโ€™s only through Godโ€™s abundant grace and mercy that we are able to be in His Holy presence.

Thatโ€™s why His gift of justification is so valuable, and should never be taken for granted. Even though we are unrighteousโ€ฆthrough the blood of our Lord Jesus, we are โ€˜counted as righteousโ€™.

Romans 3:23-25 (NKJV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

Just as we donโ€™t measure up to Godโ€™s standardโ€ฆWe disappoint each other because at times donโ€™t measure up to one another’s expectationsโ€ฆwhether reasonable or unreasonable.

Just as we continue to disappoint God in our individual relationships with Him, we will continue to disappoint one another in our relationships with each other.

As years go by, even though we grow to know one another better, there will still be things about each other that โ€˜drive us up the wallโ€™…things that ‘drive us crazy’.

Think about some things that you hate about those people who are closest to you.

Does it mean that your relationship is flawed?

Well, yes it doesโ€ฆbut so is your relationship with God.

But, just as God loves us through our flaws, He expects us to love one another through ours as well.

So, the next time your notice your husbandโ€ฆwifeโ€ฆparentโ€ฆsisterโ€ฆbrotherโ€ฆfriend doing something you donโ€™t like…or even hate, after all these years rememberโ€ฆ

Theirs something they canโ€™t stand about you, and…

It makes your relationship normalโ€ฆnot over.

Love each other through it, just as God loves you.

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

ARE YOUR RESPONSIBLE WITH YOUR AUDIENCE?

wp-1479740619961.jpg

There are many celebrities, politicians, athletes and ministers who have huge audiences. They have great NAME RECOGNITION, people know them nearly everywhere they go, listen to what they have to say and even imitate their behavior. They have huge influence with their fans or followers. It’s disappointing to see what some people do with their voice and influence. Some are blessed with a social stage or public platform only to squander their voice and influence on foolishness or themselves.

We may not all be celebrities, but God has given all of us an audience and a voice. In your home, job, school, church, the park, the shopping center, in traffic, the restaurant people are watching you and listening to you. What are you doing with your audience? Many times we claim we want God to ‘enlarge our territoryโ€™ just as Jabez prayed in 1 Chronicles 4:10. We ask Him to give us more resources and influence, but are we being responsible with that we already have? Are we being responsible with those in our circle of influence, no matter how small?

How do you handle disappointment on the job?…in front of your children?

How do you act when you get bad service in the restaurant?โ€ฆor in a store?

How do you behave when frustrated in traffic?โ€ฆ(That one hit me!)

Do you speak up for the right things when it’s not popular to do so or remain silent?

How do you represent yourself on social media?

How do you dress?

God tells us in 1 Peter 2:12 โ€ฆ

โ€œHaving your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.โ€

Colossians 4:5 says… “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.โ€

And of course In Matthew Jesus saysโ€ฆ

Matthew 5:14-16… โ€œYou are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. God expects us to be His Light in the world.

Too many people want God to move them to bigger and better when they aren’t even thriving where they’re planted.

Are you thriving where you’re planted?

What are you doing with your voice and influence?

How are you perceived in your circles?

Whether you have an audience of  one or one million, God expects you to honor Him and be light. Men, Women and Children of God…let’s be responsible with our audience.

ARE YOU A LABORER FOR HIS HARVEST OR ONLY YOUR OWN?

picsart_12-14-1067478637.jpg

I wonder how many people in the Body of Christ…how many ‘church’ people…how many Christians really care about those who are lost.

He told us to bear much fruit…

John 15:16 (NKJV)

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

To make disciples…

Matthew 28:19 (NKJV)

19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

It’s His will that ALL come to repentance…

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

He told us to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send laborers into HIS harvestโ€ฆ

Matthew 9:36-38 (NKJV)

36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary[a] and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, โ€œThe harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.โ€

Do you care about the lost, or only about what you may have lost?

Do you share your faith with those who don’t believe or only with those who already do?

Do you hope those who are lost…especially those guilty of the sins that bother you the most, or those who have hurt you, or those who hate you…do you hope they come to repentance?

Do you regularly pray the Lord or the Harvest to send laborers into His Harvest? Are you a laborer for His Harvest or a Laborer for yours only?

Itโ€™s easy to sincerely love God, have faith in Him, share our faith and testimony with others who are already โ€˜savedโ€™ โ€“ itsโ€™ easy, if we arenโ€™t careful, to serve, give and do Kingdom work with selfish motivesโ€ฆpursuing our own prosperity, health and blessings. It’s easy to approach God, but approach Him selfishly. APPROACHING GOD SELFISHLYโ€ฆ

We all want a bountiful harvest in our lives and thereโ€™s nothing wrong with that, unless we totally ignore our responsibility to bring others into the Kingdom of God

The LORD wants us to have a heart for those who are lost, just as He did in 9:36. He looked at the multitudes and felt moved with compassion on them. Have you ever looked at those who donโ€™t believe in God through our Lord and Savior Yeshua, Christ Jesus, or those who are caught up in practicing ungodly lifestyles and feltโ€ฆContempt? Anger? Rage? Or, just didnโ€™t care at all? Donโ€™t let the sin of self-righteousness or apathy corrupt your faith.

Let us always pray for a heart for those who are lost, and follow up that prayer with genuine effort.

DO YOU REALLY LOVE GOD OR IS IT JUST THE RIGHT THING TO SAY?

wp-1494042038518.

Most people who grew up in or around church, or were raised with a belief in God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, or those who have come from unbelief to belief will all quickly proclaim, โ€œI love God!โ€

But, do you love Him? Or do just feel itโ€™s the right to say? You may even be afraid not to say it. Which is a healthy fear and reverence of God, but still isnโ€™t love.

When you love someone, you want to be in their presence as much as possible, in fact you look forward to it. When you love someone you want to know whatโ€™s important to them. When you love someone you donโ€™t want to hurt them, intentionally or unintentionally.

When you love someone you want to grow closer to them. When you love someone, you enjoy talking about them. Many people when they are honest with themselves love their favorite team, their car, their guns, their _____________ more than they love God because thatโ€™s what they love talking about.

When you love someone you arenโ€™t afraid to show affection for them in public. Iโ€™m not talking about kissingโ€ฆIโ€™m talking about holding their hand, hugging themโ€ฆyou arenโ€™t ashamed to let the world know you love them. Some of the same people who get hoarse at a ball game are ashamed to praise God publicly even in worship. Too many Christians are too ashamed to even bless their food in public. Are you ashamed to lift up your hands in public and say ,โ€œHallelujah, I love you LORD!โ€ Or, are you afraid people with think youโ€™re crazy. Do you reason that, โ€œIt doesnโ€™t take all of that to love Godโ€.  But, when you love someone, you arenโ€™t concerned with what is minimal or necessary. Youโ€™re more than happy to do what is โ€˜extraโ€™ for them

When you love someone you arenโ€™t just in relationship with them for what you can get out of them. You arenโ€™t just in the relationship for the benefits. When you love someone you can talk to them for hours. How often do you talk to God and fellowship with Him prayer, just because itโ€™s peacefulโ€ฆnot asking for anything, just spending quality time with Him?

When you love someone, you love listening to โ€˜moodโ€™ music with them. You love listening to music that makes you feel closer to one another. You love sharing โ€˜your songโ€™. Iโ€™m not saying you have to listen to Christian music all of the time, but I wonder how many Christians are perfectly comfortable never listening to some form of Gospel musicโ€ฆexcept when they are in church.

When you really love someone, what they think about you matters to you more than anyone else in the world. You want their loveโ€ฆtheir respectโ€ฆtheir devotionโ€ฆtheir affection.

How can one really love God and either never, seldom or randomly read His word? God knows we have the opportunity to fellowship with Him in His word whenever they please. Many claim they donโ€™t have time, but thatโ€™s simply not true. Many people, when their honest with themselves, love social media, their favorite fiction or non fiction book, or whatever else they love to do in their spare time more than they love the word of God. Whatโ€™s the first thing you check each morning? Your social media? The news? The weather? Your horoscope? Or, Godโ€™s โ€˜statusโ€™ and what He has โ€˜postedโ€™ in His word.

Itโ€™s in His word we fellowship with Him. Itโ€™s in His word we find out what pleases Him. Itโ€™s in His word that we find out what He loves and what He hates. His word gives us both comfort and correction.

When you love someone, living to please them is not a burden, but a blessingโ€ฆ

1 John 5:3  (NKJV)

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

I challenge you today to ask yourself, โ€œDo I really love God, or is it just the right thing to sayโ€. Yes, you believe in Him. Yes, you fear Him. Yes, you respect Him. Yes, you reverence Him. Yes, you pray. Yes, You, go to churchโ€ฆ

But do you love Him?

And finally, think about thisโ€ฆ

Most people quickly claim that want to go to heaven or live eternally in His presence, but I contend that if you donโ€™t genuinely enjoy reading His word, fellowshipping with Him, worshiping Him, being in His presence, even going to church now, what makes you think you will want to do it forever?

Remember, real love isnโ€™t just state, itโ€™s demonstratedโ€ฆ

Romans 5:8  (NKJV)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

IF THE CONFEDERACY WAS GOD’S WILL, THEY WOULD HAVE WON…

1 Kings 12:24 (NKJV)

24 โ€˜Thus says the Lord: โ€œYou shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.โ€ โ€™ โ€ Therefore they obeyed the word of the Lord, and turned back, according to the word of the Lord.

The purpose of this article is to build up the Body of Christ, His church, purchased with His blood. It’s because so many people who claim to be disciples in Christ are passionate about celebrating a part of history that should be remembered, but NOT celebrated.

They celebrate a heritage and culture that thrived from…

The enslavement of Black people…

The institutionalized and accepted rape of Black women…

The separation of fathers, mothers and children who were sold away from one another…

Profiting from forced labor.

Yes, they said it was for ‘States Rights’, but we all know the underpinning right for which the so-called “War of Northern Aggression” was fought.

Many of the same people who complain about our flag and military being disrespected celebrate the violent protest that fought against that same flag and military because they arrogantly have judged their cause to be more noble.

The Confederacy was another country, with it’s own constitution, it’s own government, it’s own currency, it’s own flag, its’ own military…it was treason.

Many of these same people who revere everything above to the point of worship, claim to be Christians. How could they have missed this verse…

Exodus 21:16  (ESV)

16 โ€œWhoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.

I encourage anyone who claims to love the God of our salvation, Yah, Adonai, our Elohim, the Father of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the Son of God, the Living Word, Jesus Christ to carefully read through the Old Testament.

Notice that the Nation of Israel was split into two kingdoms because of the sin of Rehaboam, which was a heritage of his father, Solomon’s disobedience in his old age…

1 Kings 12:15  (NKJV)

15 So the king did not listen to the people; for the turn of events was from the Lord, that He might fulfill His word, which the Lord had spoken by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

God forbade them to fight one another…

1 Kings 12:21-24  (NKJV)

21 And when Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah with the tribe of Benjamin, one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, that he might restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. 22 But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying, 23 โ€œSpeak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, to all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people, saying, 24 โ€˜Thus says the Lord: โ€œYou shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.โ€ โ€™ โ€ Therefore they obeyed the word of the Lord, and turned back, according to the word of the Lord.

There were subsequently several battles between the northern and southern kingdoms during the reigns of the kings of both kingdoms. Here are a few of the verses…

1 Kings 15:1-6  (NKJV)

15 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah. He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His motherโ€™s name was Maachah the granddaughter of Abishalom. And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; his heart was not [a]loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David. Nevertheless for Davidโ€™s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, by setting up his son after him and by establishing Jerusalem; because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. 6 And there was war between [b]Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

1 Kings 15:16 (NKJV)

16 Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

2 Kings 14:11-12 (NKJV)

11 But Amaziah would not heed. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went out; so he and Amaziah king of Judah faced one another at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah. 12 And Judah was defeated by Israel, and every man fled to his tent.

You will not find one verse in the bible CELEBRATING any of the civil wars between Israel and Judah! Are they documented? Yes. Are they celebrated? No. Are there statues and memorials? NO!

This is one of the reasons that God forbade graven images…

Exodus 20:4-5  (NKJV)

โ€œYou shall not make for yourself a carved imageโ€”any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor [a]serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

Notice verse 4 says don’t make them. That’s one complete thought. Then, verse 5 says don’t worship them…that’s an extension of that thought. Don’t make them, then don’t worship them. Why?

Because God knows us. Too many times passion and respect unintentionally becomes worship. Especially when someone else doesn’t share your perspective or level of reverence.

God is sovereign. As a Black man, I’m thankful that the South did not win. Just as Israel was enslaved in Egypt for 400 years, so were Black people in what became the United States. When God chose, He released Israel from their bondage, and he did the same in America.

If you believe God is sovereign, then you have to accept the fact that IF GOD WANTED THE CONFEDERACY TO WIN, THEN THEY WOULD HAVE.

Again, this post is to equip and build up the Body of Christ. If it for some reason makes you angry, ask yourself which spirit is provoking your anger.

The judgement of God is often viewed as painful, uncomfortable or even negative.

But, sometimes His verdict is…

Innocent…

Righteous…

Aquitted…

Overturned…

Commuted…

Victorious…

Free…

Forgiven…

Saved!

Thank God that through Yeshua, Jesus Christ, our DEATH sentence has been COMMUTED to ETERNAL life…

5 TIPS ON HOW TO WORK WITH PEOPLE YOU DON’T TRUST…

wp-1488048352149.jpg

Your success, effectiveness and peace is not only determined by how well you relate with people you DO TRUST…but how well you are at relating with people that you DON’T TRUST.

Our ultimate trust is in God, but He didn’t put us on this earth alone.

God has also ordained it that there is little that we can accomplish alone.

Even God Himself uses His angels to relate to usโ€ฆ

Hebrews 11:14 (NKJV)

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

God let the captives in Babylon know that though they trusted Him, they were to pray for the peace of the city in which they lived because their peace was dependent on the cityโ€™s peaceโ€ฆ

Jeremiah 29:7(NKJV)

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Jesus sent the first disciples out in pairs (Mark 6:7, Luke 10:1)

The apostles worked in pairs, teams and even depended heavily on the early church for help.

As much as we are interdependent on another in this life, God also warned us about putting our trust in people rather than Himโ€ฆ

Psalm 118:8 (NKJV)

It is better to trust in the Lord. Than to put confidence in man.

Of course we all want to be in relationships and situations with people we trust, but thatโ€™s not always possibleโ€ฆSometimes we canโ€™t even trust our own selves.

It seems itโ€™s getting harder and harder to trust people these days.

We have families, jobs, churches, communities, organizations that we are all a part of in which to live, but the fact is that you KNOW you canโ€™t trust everyoneโ€ฆ

In your familyโ€ฆ

On your jobโ€ฆ

In your churchโ€ฆ

In your communityโ€ฆ

In our governmentโ€ฆ

Sometimes we go through seasons and situations when we canโ€™t trust our spouse, children, parents or even friendsโ€ฆbecause we are human beings being human.

Do we abandon these relationships and resources because of the lack of trust or total trust?

Of course not!

Your ability to be successful, effective and have peace in your life is just as dependent upon your ability to work and relate with people you DONโ€™T trust as well as those you DO trust.

How do you do it?

First of all trust God first. If He has you in a situation, or you have allowed yourself into a situation where trust is limitedโ€ฆyou still have to lean on His word, truth, character and TRUST HIM.

Second pray for wisdom and discernment so you can know WHO to trust and WHO NOT to trust.

Third pray for those whom you donโ€™t trust that they submit themselves to God through our Lord and Savior Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Itโ€™s bigger than just you or meโ€ฆUltimately itโ€™s more about their relationship with God than ours with them.

Fourth, remain in Godโ€™s character so that you can set a standard and example of behavior and plant good seeds for Godโ€™s Kingdom. You do this by walking in the Spirit as defined in Galatians 5:22, 23.

Fifth, always make are always faithful and trustworthy in all your relationships.

And finally, remember that God had equipped you with everything you need for this LIFE and GODLINESS in this life, through His divine nature that is now inside youโ€ฆ

2 PETER 1:2-8 (NKJV)

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No you canโ€™t trust everyoneโ€ฆ

The fact that we aren’t always faithful means that God can’t always trust us. But, we can always trust Him.

So,

Trust Godโ€ฆ

Trust Yourselfโ€ฆ

Be Trustworthy…

And remember, GOD IS GREATER THAN THOSE WHOM YOU DONโ€™T TRUST.

Add this to your prayer life…”Lord give me the ability to relate with those I don’t trust.”

BE BLESSTIFIED!

WHY IT’S STILL A SIN EVEN IF YOU WERE, “BORN THAT WAY”โ€ฆ

wp-1483461700459.jpg

Having you ever noticed a child throwing a temper tantrum when he or she doesnโ€™t get something that they want? This is a natural reaction that must be overcome as the child matures. The reaction is naturalโ€ฆinnateโ€ฆthe child was born with it.

As you know, the debate continues as to whether people are born gay, or is it a choice. The purpose of this article isn’t to debate that question, but to address this fact…

The truth is that we are all born with innate desires, feelings and proclivities that we did not ask for.

Many Christians reason to excuse some behaviors by saying, โ€œI or they was or were born this wayโ€.

This doesnโ€™t mean that God made a mistake because the scripture clearly reminds us that we were all born in sinโ€ฆ

Psalm 51:5 (NKJV)

Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

We were all born with desires we didnโ€™t ask forโ€ฆthat doesnโ€™t make them ALL okay. Just because it comes naturally doesnโ€™t make right. Some natural desires we must resist with the help of the Holy Spiritโ€ฆ

Fornicationโ€ฆ

Adulteryโ€ฆ

Homosexualityโ€ฆ

Gluttonyโ€ฆ

Greedโ€ฆ

Jealousyโ€ฆ

Envyโ€ฆ

Wrath โ€ฆ

โ€ฆALL come from natural desires and they are ALL EQUALLY wrong.

Even David, a man after Godโ€™s own heart was born with an insatiable desire for womenโ€ฆbut that did not make it right or acceptable to God. Those who read the bible know what that led to.

Some people are naturally more greedy, more lustful, more promiscuous, more selfish, more aggressive, more violent that othersโ€ฆdoes that make it okay? For those who wish to argue these are learned behaviors, some people have these behaviors modeled and โ€˜learnโ€™ them, while others witnessed these behaviors and didnโ€™t succumb to them.

Pedophiles donโ€™t feel they โ€˜chooseโ€™ to be attracted to childrenโ€ฆdoes that make it okay? No!

The desires of our flesh war against our spiritโ€ฆand these vary from person to person.

Galatians 5:17 (NKJV)

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

It is only by walking in the Fruit of the Spirit can we overcome our fleshly desires that displease God.

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

 Galatians 5:22,23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

By the way, calling out something as sin is NOT judging. And, it’s not saying it’s any more wrong than another sin!

Thatโ€™s why fasting is so powerful. It is a tool we can use to bring our flesh into subjection, overcome our weaknesses and prove to ourselves that our desires wonโ€™t rule us. Itโ€™s our tool to move those mountains in our lives.

Matthew 17: 20-21

20 So Jesus said to them, โ€œBecause of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, โ€˜Move from here to there,โ€™ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting

Use this as post ammunition when someone presents to you the argument, โ€œI was born this way, so it canโ€™t be wrongโ€.

Just because itโ€™s natural, doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s okay.

BE BLESSTIFIED.

HOW PRAISE FIGHTS TO ELIMINATE ‘SPIRITUAL FUNK’…

One morning when I arrived to work, I made a quick stop by the bathroom. As I opened the door, I quickly realized that someone had gotten there before me, and left behind a funky, powerful stench…as it flooded my nostrils, I could hardly breathe.

I reached for a can of aerosol air freshener. As I released it into the air, it filled the room and fought hard to remove the funk, but I could still smell both.

Abominations ‘stink in the nostrils’ of God…Sacrifices (praise) are a fragrant aroma.

Today our sacrifices are PRAISE rather than BLOOD thanks to the one-time sacrifice of Yeshua the Messiah…

Hebrews 10:10 (ESV)

10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 13:15-16 (NKJV)

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, [a]giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Yes sin is sin, but abominations are sins that are much more disgusting to God… just as some sins are much more disgusting to us.

Abominations are spiritual funk that we release into the physical and spiritual world.

How do you feel when you smell something disgusting?

How do you feel when you smell a fragrant aroma?

Think about all of the abominations, blasphemies, insults, and idolatry that you notice being released into both the physical and spiritual world everyday, sometimes by people who call themselves Christian…

This is spiritual funk and stench that is released into the nostrils of God.

Now, think about the praise and blessings that you witness on a daily basis.

Praise fights to eliminate spiritual funk as it floods the nostrils of God.

Are you releasing more spiritual funk? Or, are you releasing more praise?

BE BLESSTIFIED!

FOR THOSE WHO THINK GOD PRIORITIZES THE UNBORN OVER THE BORN…

When we try to justify our faith through our American politics, something will always ‘slip through the cracks’. People on both sides are judging others by their myopic views based on the sins and values they choose to politicize.

Many people who are passionately against abortion (as we all should be, yes it is sin) feel justified by prioritizing that over issues of social injustice, equality and equity that concern the living. God makes it clear that there are other abominations equal to those which are politicized…

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to [a]Him:
17 A[b] PROUD look,
A lying tongue,
HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And ONE WHO SOWS DISCORD AMONG BRETHERN.

As much as it may seem right to some of us, God does not prioritize the unborn over those who are born. And, you can’t ignore the concerns of the living for those who aren’t living ‘yet.’ The fact is that God is just as sovereign over the unborn soul as He is over the soul that has died.

Remember what Yeshua said…

Mark 12:26-27 (NKJV)

26 But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, โ€˜I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacobโ€™? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly [a]mistaken.โ€

Be confident that God is sovereign over those who are not yet born…

Romans 9:10-13 (NKJV)

10 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac 11 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls),

God is God of the unborn, the living and the dead, but Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ died for those who are guilty and alive…

1 Peter 3:17-19 (NASB)

17 For it is better, if [a]God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the [b]spirit; 19 in [c]which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison,

God doesn’t give priority to a sin just because we decide to do so, and quite frankly, he doesn’t give priority to those who are not yet born over those who are.

Again, abortion is wrong, but it’s not more wrong that injustice…

Don’t forget the REAL reasons that God sent Israel and Judah into exile…

Isaiah 10:1-3 (NASB)

Woe to those who enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record [a]unjust decisions,
So as to [b]deprive the needy of justice
And rob the poor of My people of their rights,
So that widows may be their spoil
And that they may plunder the [c]orphans.
Now what will you do in the day of punishment,
And in the devastation which will come from afar?
To whom will you flee for help?
And where will you leave your [d]wealth?

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT BOOBS AREN’T JUST FOR THE BABIES…

Sex is a gift from God. Even though it’s the means He intended for us to be fruitful and multiply, it is also meant to be enjoyed within the bonds of holy matrimony between a man and a woman.

Our bodies with their various curves, shapes, textures, contrast of colors, smells etc., are meant to provoke sexual arousal. It’s up to us to control these urges so that they are only fulfilled within marriage.

One of those divine combinations of curves, shapes, textures, and contrast of colors is the female breast.

Yes, these were created for mothers to make sure their children are nourished, but that’s not all.

They were also created for the mutual pleasure of the husband and the wife. Breasts were created:

As a means of seducing her husband…

For her pleasure during times of intimacy…

To be aesthetically pleasing to entice her husband…

For his enjoyment during times of intimacy…

The fact is that even though God created female breasts to nurse their children, that boobs aren’t just for the babies. Check out these bible verses about female breasts and intimacy within marriage.

Proverbs 5:18-19  (NKJV)

18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
And always be [a]enraptured with her love.

Song of Solomon 1:12-13  (NKJV)

12 While the king is at his table,
My [a]spikenard sends forth its fragrance.
13 A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me,
That lies all night between my breasts.

Song of Solomon 4:4-5  (NKJV)

Your neck is like the tower of David,
Built for an armory,
On which hang a thousand [a]bucklers,
All shields of mighty men.
Your two breasts are like two fawns,
Twins of a gazelle,
Which feed among the lilies

Song of Solomon 7:2-3, 8(NKJV)

Your navel is a rounded goblet;
It lacks no [a]blended beverage.
Your waist is a heap of wheat
Set about with lilies.
Your two breasts are like two fawns,
Twins of a gazelle.

Song of Solomon 7:8  (NKJV)

I said, โ€œI will go up to the palm tree,
I will take hold of its branches.โ€
Let now your breasts be like clusters of the vine,
The fragrance of your [a]breath like apples,

Song of Solomon 8:10  (NKJV)

10 am a wall,
And my breasts like towers;
Then I became in his eyes
As one who found peace.

Hebrews 13:4 (NKJV)

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

1 Corinthians 7:2-5 (NLT)

But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.

The husband should fulfill his wifeโ€™s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husbandโ€™s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.

Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan wonโ€™t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

2 TOXIC, CULTURAL DEMONS THAT ARE OFTEN DEFLECTED IN THE BLACK & WHITE COMMUNITIES…

Even though there are many races and cultures in America, it’s undeniable that many of America’s issues are in ‘Black & White’. That’s unfortunate because when God called Abram, and renamed Him Abraham…He created a faith, not a race. Faith in God through Yeshua the Messiah is based on faith and not race.

However, part of the ‘race’ problem in America is that all races have their ‘cultural demons’ that are immediately deflected, especially if presented by someone of the ‘other race’.

You know what ‘DEFLECT’ means…

TRANSITIVE VERB

If youย deflectย something such as criticism or attention, you act in a way that prevents it from being directedย tย toward you or affecting you.

The key to conflict resolution is common ground. So, I’m pointing out a ‘cultural demon’ from both races that are constantly deflected by many instead of addressed to change the culture.

WHITE PRIVILEGE

As I stated in a previous post:

Many say, I NEVER OWNED SLAVES!

Others say, I WAS BORN POOR AND WORKED HARD FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE!

And some say, I HAVE NEVER BENEFITED FROM โ€˜WHITE PRIVILEGEโ€™.

Others assert, Iโ€™M NOT RACIST, I HAVE BLACK FRIENDS, SO WHY SHOULD I FEEL GUILTY?

Iโ€™m asking everyone who respects the Bible as the Word of God to consider thisโ€ฆ

It is undeniable that in our nationโ€™s history there wasnโ€™t a hint of equality or equity for non-white Americans until the late 60โ€™s.

Even if you had nothing to do with any of the evils towards Black people through the generations,, legacies and benefits of their behavior and systems transcends generationsโ€ฆculturally, economically, socially psychologically, and spiritually. Narratives and paradigms are set.

The Romans in the New Testament (the people not the book) are the perfect biblical example. They thought they were superior (even though many White people today don’t). They subjugated the Jews. The ‘system’ of their empire was set up to benefit them. Even if you had nothing to do with any of the evils towards Black people through the generations,, legacies and benefits of the system that has established thought and behavior and systems transcends generationsโ€ฆculturally, economically, socially psychologically, and spiritually. Narratives and paradigms are set.

However, rather than admit this, the response is too often…”There’s no such thing as White Privilege!” That’s deflecting.

BLACK ON BLACK CRIME

Black on Black crime is an unfortunate reality in America.

Again, this is from a previous post that I made:

Thereโ€™s too many Black people killing Black people!

Thereโ€™s too many Black people terrorizing Black people!

Thereโ€™s too many Black people doing racists a favor by doing their job for them!

RACISTS DONโ€™T HAVE TO FIRE A SHOT OR TIE A NOOSE WHEN BLACK PEOPLE ARE KILLING ONE ANOTHER!

And marchesโ€ฆspeechesโ€ฆblock partiesโ€ฆthe police or politicians canโ€™t solve it.

But, rather than admit and address it, too many times when Black-on-Black crime is mentioned, the response is…’There’s no such thing as Black-on-Black crime.” That’s defecting.

This scripture applies to both individual and ‘corporate’ sins…

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let’s all do better everybody.

It’s time to stop deflected and start connecting.

WHEN WE MAKE NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES LOOK TRUE …

There are negative stereotypes of every race, gender, geographic region, culture, nationality, religion etc.

This is one article that needs no evidence or examples because as you read it those negative stereotypes of which you are aware easily come to mind.

I don’t know what’s worse, negative stereotypes or those people who seem to do their best to support those stereotypes with their thinking, attitudes and behavior.

Even in the bible, the apostle Paul mentions a stereotype that was supported by the behavior of SOME of the people of a certain group, that projected to all of them…

Titus 1:10-13 (NKJV)

10 For there are many insubordinate, both idle (A)talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, (B)for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 (C)One of them, a prophet of their own, said, โ€œCretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.โ€ 13 This testimony is true. (D)Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

Notice that Paul said, “THIS TESTIMONY IS TRUE”. That’s because that…

No matter hard some people work to remove negative stereotypes of their particular ‘group’, there are others who seem to be committed to helping those stereotypes to live on.

Unfortunately, some stereotypes are like rumors… most (but not all) rumors are wrapped around a kernel of truth.

Think about the many groups of which you are a part, and the negative stereotypes of those groups…

Which of those stereotypes does your thinking, attitudes and behavior help those stereotypes live on?

Be careful, sometimes our stereotyping someone fits a stereotype within itself.

WHEN YOUR SIN IS A GOOD MEMORY…

You’ve stopped.

You don’t do it anymore.

You even asked God to forgive you.

But, when you think about it, the memory still makes you smile.

If you don’t really regret it.

If you had to do it all over…you would do it again.

If you aren’t truly sorry that it happened, then it’s a good chance that God hasn’t forgiven you.

Why?

Because you haven’t truly repented in your heart.

True repentance comes from godly sorrow…

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV)

10 For (A)godly sorrow produces repentance leadingto salvation, not to be regretted; (B)but the sorrow of the world produces death.

If you aren’t sorry, have you truly repented?

THE CHALLENGE OF THE UNAVOIDABLE โ€˜HYPROCRISYโ€™ OF TRUE MINISTRYโ€ฆ

wp-1491849985989.Our challenge is to love the sinner without condoning or justifying the sinful lifestyle…while we struggle with our own.

Our challenge is to call out sin and warn of itโ€™s consequences in spite of our own imperfections, faults, failures and weaknesses.

We must remember that calling out sin, warning about itโ€™s consequences and holding one another accountable is not judgingโ€ฆitโ€™s our responsibility.

Condemnation and stating what we believe is in someoneโ€™s heart is judging.

None of us are perfect. Far from it. But, God still expects us to warn about the consequences of sin.

The truth is that none of us are never at any moment, โ€˜sinlessโ€™. Does that make us all hypocrites?

Nope. God justifies us and โ€˜views us as righteousโ€™ only through faith our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:23  (NKJV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 5:1 (NKJV)

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

The key is to never be content or satisfied with our own sins. To constantly allow His Holy Spirit to convict us of our own wrong, working diligently to โ€˜lay them asideโ€™โ€ฆ

Itโ€™s your attitude about your sin that prevents you from being a hypocrite.

Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Pray for God to give you wisdom, knowledge, understanding, discernment and revelation for how to be His image, His voice, His representative in this generation. And, leave behind a heritage of good fruit for the generations to come.

Colossians 1:27-28  (NKJV)

27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which[a] is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

 Psalm 71:18 (NKJV)

18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come.

7 SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES…

wp-1496764932947.

So many times we are told what we should do, but not told how to do it. It’s easy to teach and preach what the bible says, but it doesn’t do much good if you don’t give people the tools to do it.

One great example is when we’re told to love our enemies. We all know and acknowledge what Jesus teaches us…

Matthew 5:43-48 (NKJV)

43 โ€œYou have heard that it was said, โ€˜You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.โ€™44 [a]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [b]brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the [c]tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

But, we all know that can be easier said than done. Especially what he, she or they wish for and work to your harm. It’s difficult when they try to influence other people against you. God never said it was easy, just possible.

God has really dealt with me concerning this. One of the people who greatly encouraged me to create this blog eventually became a person who not only worked against me, but influenced other people against me.

We also know what God teaches us through the apostle Paulโ€ฆ

Romans 12:14  (NKJV)

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Romans 12:17-21  (NKJV)

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have[a] regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, โ€œVengeance is Mine, I will repay,โ€says the Lord. 20 Therefore โ€œIf your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.โ€ 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I see other people on the news who hate me because of my race, my faith, my beliefs, and these are people I’ve never met.

In fact, one of the people who greatly encouraged me to create this blog eventually became a person who not only worked against me, but influenced other people against me.

So, how do you pray for people who hate you? It’s much easier said than done, especially when someone wishes for and works towards your harm, tries to influence others to hate or hurt your, or when someone hurts someone very dear to you.

HERE ARE 7 SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES…

1. ASK GOD TO SHOW YOU IF & WHERE YOU’RE WRONG

Before you approach God about anyone you consider an enemy, make sure you first ask God to reveal to you if you are wrong in the issue, matter or paradigm. Even if you are 100 percent right, ask God to forgive you if you have allowed the enemy to harden your heart beyond God’s required love for your enemy. We must first consider ourselves before we begin to ‘judge’ anyone else…

Matthew 7:1-5  (NKJV)

โ€œJudge[a] not, that you be not judged. For with what [b]judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brotherโ€™s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, โ€˜Let me remove the speck from your eyeโ€™; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brotherโ€™s eye.

2. PRAY FOR THEIR FAITH IN GOD TO BE ESTABLISHED & INCREASE

We must always remember that God doesn’t love our enemies any less than He loves us. They were created in His image too. God has called us all to be ministers of reconciliation. So, whether your enemy is an unbeliever or if they are a believer, if they are acting outside His will and character, it’s His desire that they be brought back into right relationship with Him. That’s where our prayers come in. God expects us to be ministers of reconciliation to Him…

2 Corinthians 5:17-20  (NKJV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [a]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christโ€™s behalf, be reconciled to God.

3. PRAY FOR THEIR REPENTANCE

If we aren’t careful, someone can hurt us or someone we love to the point that we can find ourselves not wanting them to repent. That will take away our excuse to be angry at them. But, it’s Gods will that everyone repent and turn to Him…

2 Peter 3:9  (NKJV)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward [a]us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

4. PRAY FOR THEIR SALVATION

There are people that we can find so mean, evil and malicious that we don’t want them to be saved. Knowing that someone is in sin or evil is not judging them, but when we decide they are not worthy of salvation, that’s judgement and condemnation. What if God thought you not worthy of salvation when you were at your worst? And, as Matthew 7:1-2 reminds us, what ever judgement we are placing on someone else we are placing that same judgment on ourselves. Plus, if your enemy is a Christian and they are just in a hardhearted, backslidden, or weak moment, you may be placing condemnation on yourself as well…

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,โ€
Says the Lord.

So, always ask God to forgive you for any judgment or condemnation you have placed on someone.

5. PRAY THAT THEY PRODUCE GOOD FRUIT

It’s also God’s will that we all lead fruitful and productive lives…

John 15:8  (NKJV)

By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

John 15:16  (NKJV)

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Once your enemy is sincerely leading a fruitful life, they can no longer truly be your enemy. You are then on the same team working for the same kingdom goals. Even if you aren’t necessarily friends, you will no longer be enemies.

6. PRAY SINCERELY, NOT TRYING TO MANIPULATE GOD TO GIVE YOU REVENGE

It’s a dangerous thing asking God to give someone what they deserve: SO YOU THINK THEY GOT WHAT THEY DESERVEDโ€ฆREALLY??? Again, that’s judgment, especially when God hasn’t given any of us what we deserve. Too many times people take Romans 12:20 out of context. They merely want to pray for their enemy or even help them to ‘heap coals of fire on their head’. That is the wrong motivation. Sometimes people can even say, “I’m praying for you as an insult, rather than in sincerity: NEVER LET YOUR โ€œGOD BLESS YOUโ€ REALLY MEAN โ€œF*** YOUโ€โ€ฆ

7. PRAY THAT GOD FORGIVES YOU FOR BEING SOMEONE’S ENEMY

We all have situations in our lives that we have been or are someone’s enemy. Not because they just don’t like us, but because we have done them wrong. We have worked against them. We have spoken evil against them. This could even be someone who we don’t know or doesn’t know us…It could be a public figure. Even though it’s wrong for them to do so, we have given some people good reason to hate us. Always ask God to forgive you for when you’re someone else’s enemy.

Romans 3:23  (NKJV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Praying for our enemies in sincerity isn’t easy, but it is possible.

FOR THOSE WHO SAY THE BIBLE CONTRADICTS THE EARTH BEING ROUND…

One of the favorite arguments of atheists is the ‘foundations of the earth’ language in the bible. And, honestly, this is one of those things in the bible that’s difficult for believers to understand explain too.

Let me help with a very practical explanation.

First of all, the bible acknowledges that the earth is round…

Isaiah 40:22 (NKJV)

22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

I think everyone will agree that circles are round. But, what about all the language referring to the ‘foundations of the earth’ such as…

Psalm 104:5 (NKJV)

You who [a]laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,

Think about this. Even though the earth is round, the home in which you live still requires a foundation. Every building that we build requires a strong, immovable, preferably flat foundation. The very flat ground that we walk on, build on…live on has it’s own layers or ‘foundations’.

The fact that the world is round does not prevent the ground from being flat and requiring foundations.

Did people in the ancient world think the world was flat? Yes. But the fact that God didn’t reveal the fact that the world was round to everyone at that time doesn’t negate the fact that He is real and He lives. Think about all of the mysteries of the physical and spiritual worlds that WE still don’t know.

Don’t allow your blessings of intelligence and sense of logic be a curse to prevent you from understanding and accepting the mysteries in the word of God.

REMINDER: PREACHERS HAVEN’T PERFECTED EVERYTHING THEY PREACH…

wp-1491318275050.jpg

Let me first say that this article is in no way excusing the sin, shortcomings of weaknesses of any preacher, but rather acknowledging them. I know that God expects us as ministers and teachers to set the standard of behavior and holds us to a higher degree of accountability.

1 Peter 5:2 (NKJV)

Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly,[a] not for dishonest gain but eagerly;

1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV)

11 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

1 Timothy 3:2-12 (NKJV)

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[a] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

 James 3:1 (NKJV)

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

1 Timothy 5:19-20 (NKJV)

19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. 20 Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.

But, I do ask you to remember and consider this…

Police officers sometimes speed while off dutyโ€ฆ

Doctors donโ€™t always eat healthyโ€ฆ

And, preachers havenโ€™t always perfected what they preach.

The Word of God cuts preachers as He gives them inspiration, revelation and the anointing to share it. It convicts preachers of their sins as God reveals it to them.

Even the apostles were caught in and admitted to human momentsโ€ฆ

Galatians 2:11-13 (NKJV)

11 Now when Peter[a] had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

 The Apostle Paulโ€ฆ

 Romans 7:19-25 (NKJV)

19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank Godโ€”through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Sometimes preachers may even be transparent about what they are dealing with in their lives in their sermons or what they may write.

People particularly get upset with ministers as they call out particular sins and warn of their consequencesโ€ฆ.accusing them of judging. However, they are simply practicing, and sometimes struggling with what they preach, as they teach, instruct, encourage, admonish/warn those whom they are charged with.

Many people either do one of two things, they are oh, too ready to acknowledge that preachers are only human and diminish the authority that God has given them in the word.

Or,

People put them on a pedestal and treat them like โ€˜man godsโ€™, which is blasphemous and wrong.

I just want to give everyone a reminder that preachers are the same is everyone else, that just like police officers and doctors preachers are the same as everyone else. Police officers are subject to the same laws they have been charged to enforce. Doctors are vulnerable to the same sicknesses that they have been educated to treat. And, preachers are clothed in sinful flesh and working out their own salvation, while also being charged with watching over the souls of the Body of Christ.

The next time you see a preacher repenting after having a human moment, or even a moral failure, remember that God didnโ€™t remove King Davidโ€™s anointing or kingship after his acts of murder, deception and adulteryโ€ฆbecause He repented. Yes, there were consequences, but God still allowed Him to remain in authority.

Also, remember if you see a preacher somewhere that you think they should not beโ€ฆyou shouldnโ€™t be there either.

WE COULD ALL BE REFUGEES ONE DAY (GOD CAN INSTANTLY TURN THINGS AROUND)…

Do you remember in Genesis chapters 46 and 47 how Pharaoh gave refuge to Joseph’s family (his father Jacob and his brothers and their families, the patriarchs) to flee the famine?

He provided for them from the best of the land.

The ‘fathers of the faith’ were refugees in Egypt.

Do you also remember in Matthew chapter 2 how when Yeshua, Jesus , was a child that Joseph sought refuge for his family as Herod had all boys age 2 and under were murdered?

Our Savior was a refugee in Egypt, even though some try to say He wasn’t so the story fits their desired narrative.

Yes, immigration must be controlled, but be careful not to let your politics harden your hearts.

If many people living today had lived back then, they would have met Jacob (Israel) and his sons at the border of Egypt and turned them away.

They would have met Joseph, Mary and Jesus at the border and sent them back.

The scene above from the 2004 movie, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, powerfully shows how quickly God could turn things around.

Be humble and don’t let evil make your heart grow cold.

Matthew 24:12 (NKJV)

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

BE BLESSTIFIED!

HAVE POLITICS & SOCIAL ISSUES DISTRACTED BELIEVERS FROM SHARING GOD’S LOVE, FORGIVENESS & SALVATION…

When Jesus was in the home of Mary and Martha, He reminded Martha that she had become distracted by what was ‘going on in the house’ rather than focusing on ‘who’ was in the house…

Luke 10:41-42 (NASB)

41 But the Lord answered and said to her, โ€œMartha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary; for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.โ€

Think about those who call themselves Christians.

Think about those who claim they make their decisions based on the bible.

Think about those who claim that they speak for God.

Has the enemy distracted believers from the core mission and message that Yeshua the Messiah gave us…

Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)

19 Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.โ€ [b]Amen.

Is making disciples a priority?

Is sharing God’s love a priority?

Is ‘being the peace’ in chaos a priority?

Is sharing God’s forgiveness a priority?

Is sharing God’s gift of salvation a priority?

Are we as believers repenting of our own sins? Or blaming EVERYTHING that’s wrong on ‘sinners’?

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Have we forgotten that we are all sinners saved by grace?

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Or, have we become distracted, just like Martha?

What do you think?

BE BLESSTIFIED!

IF WE DONโ€™T DO A BETTER JOB OF โ€˜MODELINGโ€™ ADULTHOOD, OUR CHILDREN DONโ€™T HAVE A CHANCE (Updated)…

One of the best ways for a teacher to establish his or her classroom culture and expectations is by modeling that behavior.

The tone of our culture troubles me.

Our society has legitimized a culture of insults, profanity, retaliation, and foolishness.

This behavior is being modeled by too many of our leaders , while being justified, excused, ignored and mimicked by their supporters.

People are so impressed by โ€˜keeping it realโ€™, telling it like it is, adolescent humor, indecency and avoiding being Politically Correct that many have lost the value of exercising Emotional Intelligence, tact, kindness and restraint.

Too many people see being loud, proud, obnoxious and visceral as strength, while seeing meekness, humility and patience as weakness.

Our children are having this negative behavior modeled every day.

Even in our movies, we feel the โ€˜bullied nerdโ€™ is weak until he or she stands up to the bully violently.

Remember, Yeshua Himself said donโ€™t repay evil with evil, but turn the other cheek. He said donโ€™t resist an evil person (unless of course your life is threatened). But of course, striking back if someone slaps you isnโ€™t about self-defense, but pride. Returning an insult with an insult is about pride.

Matthew 5:39 (NKJV)

39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

The picture below was posted in a community Facebook group. The poster was complaining about this behavior, but many adults were celebrating trespassing, nudity and indecency. When the Lord said ‘turn the other cheek’, this isn’t what He was talking about…๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

It’s possible some of the same people who celebrated this, also frown on this foolishness ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

Do you think God approves of either?

Adults who call themselves disciples of Christ are going to have to do a better job of setting the example of walking in the Fruit of the Spirit, which the world sees as weakness.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [a]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Our children are learning to fight instead of keep the peace…

They’re learning to argue instead of reason…

They are learning to place blame and accuse instead of looking for solutions…

Theyโ€™re learning to hate instead of love…

They are learning to make excuses to satisfy their will instead of Godโ€™s will.

Could many of our childish adults be the children who were spoiled when they were growing up? Itโ€™s time to stop the erosion of decorum in leadership.

Grown folks! We have got to do better.

THE LIST OF ‘COMMON’ SINS THAT ARE EQUAL ABOMINATIONS TO HOMOSEXUALITY…

So many times the bible is explicit, clear and ‘preaches & teaches itself’. We sometimes mess up by twisting and perverting it to fit our desired agendas, beliefs, denominations and personal theologies.

When it comes to sin, many Christians ‘cherry-pick’ through the bible selecting the sins that bother them the most while making excuses for, justifying or totally ignoring those which they have decided aren’t as bad.

There are several sins that anger God just as much as homosexuality that are quite frankly ‘practiced’ by many people who call themselves believers in God through Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah).

The Apostle Paul does an excellent job of after calling out the sin of homosexuality, providing a list of sins that are equal abominations that qualify us all for the wrath of God. That’s why His grace and mercy are so valuable.

Read the verses below from Romans Chapters 1 & 2, and notice the sins that are listed after Paul addresses homosexuality. Think about which of those sins you are personally guilty of.

Notice it’s our attitude about these sins…

Whether or not we commit them…

Condone them…

And, judge those who struggle with sins different than those that we do…

Notice how those attitudes and behaviors are what qualify us as worthy of God’s wrath.

Romans 1:24-2:5 (NKJV)

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their [a]women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the [b]men, leaving the natural use of the [c]woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, [d]sexual immorality, wickedness, [e]covetousness, [f]maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 [g]undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, [h]unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Godโ€™s Righteous Judgment

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your [i]impenitent heart you are [j]treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Did you notice sins such as strife, deceit, backbiting, pride, boasting, disobedient to parents, unloving, unforgiving and unmerciful. Many of those sins are characteristic of many people who claim to be believers.

Pride and boasting have become accepted sins in today’s society, even in the church.

Now is a good time to repent of our ‘sins of choice’ and thank God for His goodness, forbearance, longsuffering, abundant grace, and mercy.

FOR THOSE WHO SAY JESUS NEVER ADDRESSED HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE BIBLEโ€ฆ

HOW PRIDE HAS BECOME THE ACCEPTED ABOMINATIONโ€ฆ

7 REASONS THAT PRIDE MAY BE THE DEADLIEST SINโ€ฆ

BE BLESSTIFIED!

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT YOUR โ€˜MANNAโ€™…

Yehovah Yireh provides perfectly through our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

We must always be careful that we never dishonor Him because we have our wants confused with our needs.

It didnโ€™t take long for Israel to get tired of the โ€˜bread from heaven provided by God…

Numbers 11:1-20 (NKJV)

11 Now (A)when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; (B)for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the (C)fire of the Lordburned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. 2 Then the people (D)cried out to Moses, and when Moses (E)prayed to the Lord, the fire was [a]quenched. 3 So he called the name of the place [b]Taberah, because the fire of the Lord had burned among them.

4 Now the (F)mixed multitude who were among them [c]yielded to (G)intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: (H)โ€œWho will give us meat to eat? 5 (I)We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now (J)our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!โ€

7 Now (K)the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. 8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and (L)its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil. 9 And (M)when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.

10 Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent; and (N)the anger of the Lord was greatly aroused; Moses also was displeased. 11 (O)So Moses said to the Lord, โ€œWhy have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the [d]burden of all these people on me? 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me, (P)โ€˜Carry them in your bosom, as a (Q)guardian carries a nursing child,โ€™ to the land which You (R)swore[e] to their fathers? 13 (S)Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, โ€˜Give us meat, that we may eat.โ€™ 14 (T)I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me. 15 If You treat me like this, please kill me here and nowโ€”if I have found favor in Your sightโ€”and (U)do not let me see my wretchedness!โ€

16 So the Lord said to Moses: โ€œGather to Me (V)seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and (W)officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you. 17 Then I will come down and talk with you there. (X)I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone. 18 Then you shall say to the people, [f]โ€˜Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept (Y)in the hearing of the Lord, saying, โ€œWho will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.โ€ Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat. 19 You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, 20 (Z)but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have (AA)despised the Lord who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, (AB)โ€œWhy did we ever come up out of Egypt?โ€ โ€™ โ€

How many times have you looked in the refrigerator, pantry or cabinet and said, โ€œThereโ€™s nothing to eatโ€ because it wasnโ€™t what you wanted?

How many times have you complained about the job you prayed for and God is using to sustain your life this season?

How many times have you complained about the spouse, children or family that God gave you because they donโ€™t always see eye-to-eye with you? Remember the children of Israel complained in the wilderness against Mosesโ€™ leadership over and over again.

Complaining is one of the sins that pisses Him off the most…

1 Corinthians 10:10 (NKJV)

10 nor complain, as (A)some of them also complained, and (B)were destroyed by (C)the destroyer.

Remember, complaining is the opposite of thanksgiving.

BE BLESSTIFIED!

WHY MANY ‘MISJUDGE’ WHAT IT MEANS TO ‘JUDGE’ SOMEONE…

It’s one of the most abused and misused statements and deflections…

“You can’t judge me!”

“Judge much?”

“Only God can judge me!”

Identifying what the bible says is sin isn’t judging. To identify something is to recognize and name it.

Recognizing and naming sin is NOT judging. It’s our responsibility as disciples to hold one another accountable and to let ‘sinners’ (we are all sinners saved by grace) that they are falling short of God’s standards.

John 7:24 (NKJV)

24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.โ€

Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV)

11 And have (A)no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather [a]expose them.

Disagreeing with a sinful lifestyle is not a phobia. For example, if I have a child that uses marijuana for recreational use, and disagree with their regular use of it, that doesn’t mean that I hate them or make me afraid of them. I’m not a ‘marijuana-phobe’. WHEN YOUโ€™RE FALSELY โ€˜DIAGNOSEDโ€™ WITH HOMOPHOBIAโ€ฆ

However, assuming that you know what is inside someone else’s heart…

Assuming that you know their motives…

Or pronouncing condemnation on them…

Are all examples of judging.

Saying that the cup in the picture above is green is not judging it. But, assuming there is coffee inside of it is. Assuming it can only be used for coffee is. The fact is that it may prefer being called a mug.

“YOU’RE JUDGING ME!”… is often the response to an assumption or a conclusion based on someone’s established behavior, character and that’s not judging, that’s their fruit.

Matthew 7:20 (NKJV)

20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

WHY THE WORD ‘SWEAR’ NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CONSTITUTION, ASAP…

Article 2, Section 1, of the U.S. Constitution prescribes the oath of office.

From Senate.gov website:(https://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/Oath_Office.htm)…”The Constitution contains an oath of office only for the president. For other officials, including members of Congress, that document specifies only that they “shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support this constitution.” In 1789, the First Congress reworked this requirement into a simple fourteen-word oath: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.””

George Washington was the first President to take his oath of office by swearing on the bible. Since then, each President has done the same. It’s become a respected tradition. It has also become a tradition that all elected officials to swear (or affirm) before they take office, and for citizens to do the same before they testify in court.

There is only one problem with that…

God has VERY CLEARLY FORBIDDEN taking oaths! He FORBIDS swearing.

Matthew 5:34-37  (NKJV)

34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is Godโ€™s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let [a]your โ€˜Yesโ€™ be โ€˜Yes,โ€™ and your โ€˜No,โ€™ โ€˜No.โ€™ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

James 5:12  (NKJV)

12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your โ€œYesโ€ be โ€œYes,โ€ and your โ€œNo,โ€ โ€œNo,โ€ lest you fall into [a]judgment.

You can’t get more clear than that!

So, why do people who claim to believe in God feel it is okay to swear or take an oath when God said DO NOT DO IT?

Why do people feel it is okay to swear or take an oath with their hand on the same bible that forbids it?

The Constitution is an important document, and I have high respect for it, but it is by no means a perfect document. That’s why it’s a living document and needs to be changed as we learn and grow. Unfortunately, many Americans are more passionate about following the Constitution to the letter even more than they are about following the bible to the letter.

The ‘founding fathers’ were great men, but they were far from perfect. They were ordained by God (Romans 13), but they were not God. Many of them who signed the Constitution also signed bills of sale for slaves with the same hand.

I’m quite certain that someone will take the previous two paragraphs out of context because what I just said offended them. If it offends you, examine yourself and what spirit is provoking you to be offended. Yeshua the Messiah also offended the religious leaders when He came to warn them about how their traditions need to change…

Matthew 15:1-9  (NKJV)

15 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, โ€œWhy do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.โ€

3 He answered and said to them, โ€œWhy do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God commanded, saying, โ€˜Honor your father and your motherโ€™; and, โ€˜He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.โ€™ But you say, โ€˜Whoever says to his father or mother, โ€œWhatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to Godโ€โ€” then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.โ€™ Thus you have made the [b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 โ€˜These people [c]draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.โ€™ โ€

Notice what Yeshua said about oaths when He rebuked the Scribes and Pharisees in Matthew Chapter 23…

Matthew 23:16-17  (NKJV)

16 โ€œWoe to you, blind guides, who say, โ€˜Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.โ€™ 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that [a]sanctifies the gold?

He called them fools. It makes no sense to swear on the bible. Which is greater, the cover of the bible carry more weight than the words you are speaking? Which is greater, the Bible or the words in it that make it holy? Besides, someone who doesn’t believe in God or take His word serious enough has no problem with putting their hands on the bible and telling a lie.

If we really love God, then we want to do what He said without trying to justify otherwise because we want to place our will over his…

John 14:15  (NKJV)

15 โ€œIf you love Me, [a]keep My commandments.

One of the problem with many Christians is they prove by their actions that they feel the only sins that God is concerned with are homosexuality, abortion and gambling.

However, Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) has made it clear that we are to NEVER SWEAR.

I do feel it is okay to make an ‘affirmation’. I feel it is okay to say, “I affirm to support the Constitution or I affirm to tell the truth” in court. But NEVER on a bible.

But, any elected official who proclaims an ‘oath of office’ or is ‘sworn in’ begins their term with a sin.

And, anyone who swears not to tell a lie in court promises not to commit one sin by committing another one.

As we work to make the Constitution an even better document by including amendments that secure the rights of everyone, don’t you think we should change it in a way to please the God of our salvation first? And do it ASAP.
