The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create areas of division in the United States and around the world.
One of the most recent hot topics is that many parents say it’s their right as to whether or not their child should wear a mask in school.
It’s interesting that some parents don’t stop and think that ‘parent choice’ works both ways.
What if another parent chooses that they don’t want their child in a classroom, or sitting next to an unmasked child?
What makes one ‘group’ of parents think their rights are more valid? What makes some feel choice skews to their perspective.
The key to conflict resolution is COMMON GROUND.
The problem is that too many people on both sides of the issue don’t want it.
Amos 3:3 (NKJV)
3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
If God is willing to reason with us…
If God is willing to find common ground with us…
We should work harder at finding it with each other.
Isaiah 1:18-20 (NKJV)
18 “Come now, and let us (A)reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
(B)They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the good of the land;
20 But if you refuse and rebel,
You shall be devoured by the sword”;
(C)For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
