TO THOSE ‘HEAL-AT-WILL PREACHERS’ WHO ‘PREY ON PRAYERS’ : STOP MOCKING GOD…

DON’T LET THEM PREY ON YOUR PRAYERS…

I’m not calling any names, but you’ve seen them on television or on social media…late in the middle of the night, or early in the morning.

People coming to them in wheel chairs…they open letters describing ailments, financial problems, and issues. People call-in in desperation.

As they lay hands on people they fall to the ground, or miraculous get out of their wheel chairs. I can’t find one bible example of how many of these ‘healings’ take place.

They claim if you send them a monetary ‘seed of faith’, God will change your world. I can’t find one example in the bible where money was accepted for healing.

And I have to admit it makes me angry when they very seldom if ever mention salvation, the wages of sin, or doing real ministry.

They just  ‘heal at will’.

I’m not going to judge them…God will do that, but if one of them should happen to read this, I have an awesome healing opportunity…

262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.

That’s the address to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

If you are legitimate…Bring your extra-ordinary anointing to Memphis, heal these children and shut this hospital down.

If not, please, please, please stop begging people to come to you. Stop giving real anointed men and women of God a bad name. Stop making Christians look foolish. Stop begging for money.

Stop PREYING on the PRAYERS of desperate people!

I pray that God gives everyone the gift of discernment.

Acts 8:9-25 (NKJV)

But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” 11 And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

20 But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! 21 You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

24 Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

25 So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

WE HAVE GOT TO LEARN TO DISAGREE WITHOUT INSULTS…

One of my greatest disappointments in growing up was realizing how much we really don’t. As a kid, I thought adults had it all together.

I’ve found that one of the areas in which some of us refuse to grow up is insulting one another.

There will always be at LEAST two sides to every issue, but most of the time there are many more. And, most of the time people are passionate about their opinion or position.

Politics

Wages

Business

Sports

Race

Relationships

Religion

The list goes on and on.

Of course, these opinions and positions will lead to disagreements. What’s important is that we learn to disagree without insults.

From social media, to demonstrations, to conference rooms, to private conversations…people allow their disagreement to be expressed with insults.

It’s natural to want to hurt someone back who’s hurt or insulted us, or someone we love, care about or respect.

“You’re a __________!”

“Well, you’re a __________!”

“President Trump is a __________!”

“President Obama is a __________!”

“Christians are__________!”

“Muslims are __________!”

“Baptists are__________!”

“People who want a $15 minimum wage are __________!”

“Racists are__________!”

“Your momma is a __________!”

You get the idea.

However…

God expects those of us in the Body of Christ to set the standard of behavior.

1 Peter 3:9(NIV)

9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

God expects us to follow the example of our Lord and Savior Yeshua, Jesus Christ…

1 Peter 2:21-23 (NIV)

21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

22 “He committed no sin,

and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[a]

23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

We should never respond to someone’s expression of their opinion with an insult, even when they have insulted us.
Those of us who are mature in the faith must remember…

That some Christians may not be as mature,

That even the mature have weak moments,

And anyone who is being led by the enemy is behaving as expected.

Let’s set the standard. Be very sensitive to your opportunities to respond without insults.
