WHY SOMEONE IS FANTASIZING ABOUT YOU…

20161130_124430.jpg

You are the object of someone’s fantasy. Someone’s watching you, and they want what you have. Yes, they want your body…

Your cancer-free body…

Your disease-free body…

Your two working legs and arms…

They want your ability to walk and run.

They want your ability to go to work every day.

They want your strength. Not you super strength, but your strength to take care of yourself.

They want ‘What you’ve got!’ Not the opportunity to fulfill their lust, but the opportunity to fulfill their life.

They want your freedom.

They want a family like yours.

They want to be just like you.

They want a roof over their heads…Food to eat…Clothes to wear.

They fantasize about going to the grocery store and filling a shopping cart rather than carrying everything they own in one.

They fantasize about buying a pair of shoes…About going where they want, when they want, in a car.

They fantasize about going to the doctor for check-ups and not treatments.

Someone would trade their good credit for your health…their riches for your peace. They’re watching you.

Please don’t allow our prosperous society to spoil you to the point of covetousness and being ungrateful.

Don’t allow the โ€˜blessings of abundanceโ€™ to become โ€˜burdensโ€™ to make you feel God is mistreating you if you don’t have everything you want. If you donโ€™ have perfect health. If you donโ€™t have ideal circumstances.

The bible teaches us to be content with food and clothes…

1 Timothy 6:8  (NKJV)

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

God teaches us to not worry about our needs…

Matthew 6:31-34 (NKJV)

31 โ€œTherefore do not worry, saying, โ€˜What shall we eat?โ€™ or โ€˜What shall we drink?โ€™ or โ€˜What shall we wear?โ€™ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

And, He teaches us to be thankful in all things.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  (NKJV)

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Don’t get your wants confused with your needs. And remember, there is always someone ‘less fortunate’ than you…fantasizing to have what you may be taking for granted.

BE BLESSTIFIED

YOU DON’T HAVE TO UNDERSTAND SOMEONE TO LOVE THEM…

Have you ever heard anyone say that you can’t love someone if you don’t understand them? NOT TRUE!

God has commanded that we love one another…

John 13:34-35 (NKJV)

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.โ€

There are on caveats or conditions with this command…we just gotta love one another y’all!

God loves us no matter what we do. And, He doesn’t love your worst enemy any less than He loves you.

So remember this.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO UNDERSTAND SOMEONE TO LOVE THEM!

If you’re married, there are some things about your spouse that you’ll never understand.

There will be things about your children or your siblings that will always bother you, and bother you a lot.

There will always be people who’s behavior will never make sense to you.

There will always be people whose behavior you will never condone.

There will always be people who will hate you for absolutely no reason…

And we still have to love all of them! We must still always pray for God to meet them at their every point of need.

We must always pray that they submit to Gods. WORD…WILL..LOVE and SALVATION.

We must always pray that they learn what pleases God…

Ephesians 5:10 (NIV)

10 and find out what pleases the Lord.

We must always pray that they grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God, so they can truly know Him better…

We must always pray that they get to truly KNOW GOD BETTER…

Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

As a matter of fact, that’s what makes love REAL When we can truly want the best according to God’s will for someone in the most conditions that challenge love the most…because that’s how God continues to love us.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THINGS YOU HATE ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOUย LOVEโ€ฆ

BE BLESSTIFIED!

THINK ABOUT THE 3 PEOPLE WHO HAVE HURT YOU THE MOST, THEN DO THIS…

I admit this is not be easy, but it IS so necessary.

God made it very clear that the forgiveness we receive from Him depends directly on the forgiveness we extend to those who have hurt us…

Matthew 6:12 (NLT)

12ย Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

And, after you have forgiven them, you must continue to forgive them OVER and OVER again when you think about what they did (or didn’t do) and it makes you feel angry, ashamed, stupid and hurt all over again. You must continue to forgive them in your heart to MAINTAIN your forgivenesss…

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)

32ย Andย be kind to one another, tenderhearted,ย forgiving one another, even as God in Christ FORGAVE you.

So, think about the 3 people in your life who have hurt you the most. it may be…

betrayal,

abuse,

infidelity,

neglect,

or they may have hurt someone you truly love…

…you know what they did, or failed to do. You know how they let you down. Think about those 3 people.

Now, if you haven’t already…forgive them.

Make up your mind to release them from the guilt of what they did to you…even if they don’t feel guilty.

Then, ask God to help relieve the anxiety and pain that you experience when you think of what they did, or see them…or see something that reminds you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)

7ย casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Psalm 94:19 (NKJV)

19ย In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.

I’m not minimizing the severity what they did to you, but God didn’t make a stipulation for that. He just commanded that we forgive.

I know it’s not easy. It may even seem impossible. But, this is where Philippians 4:13 is most powerful…

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

13ย I can do all thingsย throughย [a]Christ who strengthens me.

Now, think about those people that you have hurt as much as you’ve been hurt…do you need to ask for forgiveness?

HOW TO MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT AN APOLOGY ( 8ย TIPS)โ€ฆ

HOW FORGIVING & FORGETTING DOESNโ€™T MEAN YOU WONโ€™T REMEMBER ITย ANYMOREโ€ฆ

WHY WE SHOULD STOP SAYING, โ€œFORGIVENESS ISNโ€™T FOR THEM, ITโ€™S FOR YOUโ€ฆโ€

BE BLESSTIFIED!

EVEN IF YOU DON’T ACCEPT TRUMP, HE IS STILL ‘YOUR’ PRESIDENT (A SPIRITUAL ANALOGY)…

This piece IS NOT FOR or AGAINST President Trump, but to make a point to those who do not accept or believe in the Lord God of Israel through Yeshua the Messiah.

This is for those who don’t accept the bible as the inspired word of God.

Everyone doesn’t accept President Donald Trump as their President.

Everyone did not accept President Barak Obama as their President.

However, denying the fact that Donald Trump is your President does not prevent him from having authority in your life as an American citizen.

Denying that President Obama was your President did not make the decisions he made not valid for you.

It’s the same for those who don’t believe in or accept God. The same is true for those who don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Remember that God allows His sun to shine on believers and unbelievers.

Matthew 5:45 (NKJV)

45ย that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; forย He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

It’s a shame that some people will inhale God’s air and exhale and say He’s not real…mock Him…blaspheme Him.

People who say God is not real and has no authority in their lives still hide when storm winds blow, lightening flashes, flood waters rise, and when the ground shakes…therefore, acknowledging He DOES have authority in their lives.

When we interact with God’s creation, with what we call nature, we are acknowledging His authority in their lives…

Romans 1:20 (NKJV)

20ย For since the creation of the worldย His invisibleย attributesย are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,ย evenย His eternal power andย [a]Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

Even those of us who call ourselves believers dishonor God’s authority by what we allow to come out of our mouths…

James 3:10 (NKJV)

10ย Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

So, be careful not to let your mouth curse the President. Instead, pray for Him to submit to the word, will and love of God. If you feel that He is not in relationship with God, pray for His Salvation.

Your prayer could be the prayer that changes his heart. However, our curses are condemnations and judgments that always come back on us…

Matthew 7:1-2 (NKJV)

7ย โ€œJudge[a]ย not, that you be not judged.ย 2ย For with whatย [b]judgment you judge, you will be judged;ย and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Ask yourself, how many times you have complained about Donald Trump and neglected to pray for him.

Ask yourself, how many times you complained about Barack Obama but did not pray for him.

How many times have you prayed for either of them, but it was a selfish prayer…not for them to please God, but for them to please you?

God has given EVERYONE a measure of faith…

Romans 12:3 (NKJV)

3ย For I say,ย through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you,ย not to thinkย of himselfย more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealtย to each one a measure of faith.

Let us make it our habit to pray that God touch the hearts of those who don’t acknowledge Him. Let us pray that they attribute their measure of faith to Him through Yeshua, The Messiah, Jesus Christ. The fact is, He doesn’t love those who reject Him any less than He loves us.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (KNJV)

20ย Now then, we areย ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we imploreย youย on Christโ€™s behalf, be reconciled to God.

God still has authority over every person who doesn’t acknowledge Him. It is our responsibility to compel those minds to submit to that authority.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NKJV)

4ย For the weaponsย of our warfareย areย notย [a]carnal butย mighty in Godย for pulling down strongholds,ย 5ย casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

BE BLESSTIFIED!

THE NEXT TIME YOU WASH YOUR CAR, THINK ABOUT THIS…

It’s very easy to take our blessings for granted. Especially the blessings that some of us might call ‘the little things’…like water.

Plenty of water…

Clean water…

Available water…

Anytime you want it.

There are many people in this world who consider clean water to be a luxury.

There are many people in this world who bathe and drink from the same water that animals drink from.

They just want clean, easily accessible water to drink and bathe in.

But, so many of us don’t only have plenty of water to drink, we can sometimes catch ourselves saying “There’s nothing here to drink if there is no juice, soda, wine, beer, or Kool-Aid in the house to drink because we don’t want to drink water.

So many of us have enough water to water our lawns.

So many of us have enough water to wash our cars.

So, the next time you get ready to wash your car or drive through a car wash, stop and thank God for enough water for this task that could be considered by those who don’t have enough as vain.

Then say a prayer for those who can’t go to the faucet and turn on the fresh, clean water.

Exodus 17  (NKJV)

17 Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, โ€œGive us water, that we may drink.โ€

So Moses said to them, โ€œWhy do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?โ€

And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, โ€œWhy is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?โ€

4 So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, โ€œWhat shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone[a] me!โ€

5 And the Lord said to Moses, โ€œGo on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.โ€

And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. So he called the name of the place Massah[b] and [c]Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they [d]tempted the Lord, saying, โ€œIs the Lord among us or not?โ€

WHEN SHE’S SEXY, SENSUAL, SEDUCTIVE & HOLY…

1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (NKJV)

Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

She wanted to drive today. Thatโ€™s fine, Iโ€™ll play on my phone on the way to the grocery store.

As she turned while pulling out of the garage, I couldn’t help but notice as the wood-grained steering wheel slliiiiiiiiddd through her delicate, manicured hands. I smiled, but she didn’t notice.

Her voice, just as soft as her hands said, โ€˜Please turn on the air Boo (I love it when she calls me that). The cool rush of air mixed with her Paris Hilton perfume, which blends perfectly with the chemicals in her skin, for a fragrance so intoxicating that Iโ€™m glad Iโ€™m not driving.

As we walked into the store, I purposely allowed her to walk slightly ahead of me. She knew how much I love that dress. No shopping cart was needed. Itโ€™s was just a quick trip, so she took my hand and I was thankful she wanted the world to know I belong to her. I do.

We grabbed the almond milk and her sun dried tomato turkey, and as we headed to check out…I was subtly checking her out. Iโ€™m still just as attracted to this woman as I was 33 years ago.

From her curves…

To her smile…

Her airy voice…

From her feet…

To her hair…

To the fact Iโ€™m still her choice.

SONG OF SOLOMON CHAPTER 7 (NKJV)

7 How beautiful are your feet in sandals,
O princeโ€™s daughter!
The curves of your thighs are like jewels,
The work of the hands of a skillful workman.
Your navel is a rounded goblet;
It lacks no [a]blended beverage
.
Your waist is a heap of wheat
Set about with lilies.
Your two breasts are like two fawns,
Twins of a gazelle.
Your neck is like an ivory tower,
Your eyes like the pools in Heshbon
By the gate of Bath Rabbim.
Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon
Which looks toward Damascus.
Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel,
And the hair of your head is like purple;
A king is held captive by your tresses.

How fair and how pleasant you are,
O love, with your delights!
This stature of yours is like a palm tree,
And your breasts like its clusters.
I said, โ€œI will go up to the palm tre
e,
I will take hold of its branches.โ€
Let now your breasts be like clusters of the vine,
The fragrance of your [b]breath like apples,
And the roof of your mouth like the best wine.

The wine goes down smoothly for my beloved,
[c]Moving gently the [d]lips of sleepers.
10 I am my belovedโ€™s,
And his desire is toward me.

11 Come, my beloved,
Let us go forth to the field;
Let us lodge in the villages.

2 Let us get up early to the vineyards;
Let us see if the vine has budded,
Whether the grape blossoms are open,
And the pomegranates are in bloom.
There I will give you my love.
13 The mandrakes give off a fragrance,
And at our gates are pleasant fruits,
All manner, new and old,
Which I have laid up for you, my beloved
.

I still LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY!

On the way home, I quickly refined a playlist curated from 33 years of songs that make up the soundtrack of our marriage…Songs that are suggestive, sensual, and maybe just a little graphic that together progress to a crescendo that provides the rhythmic score to an romantic afternoon…

For the two of us as we get home, and quickly close the door.

Once again, sheโ€™s subtly seduced me with a simple trip to the store.

Itโ€™s so wonderful when a woman of God knows how to effortlessly wear her sexiness, sensuality, and to make her husband fantasize about her without compromising her holiness.

Song of Solomon 1:13 (NKJV)

13 A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me,
That lies all night between my breasts.

Hebrews 13:4 (NKJV)

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

That’s why there will never be a better love than ours…

Because the entire time I was watching her…she was watching me too.

Marriage and the beauty of it’s God ordained intimacy is truly a gift from our Heavenly Father!

If you’re married…1, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 75 years, never forget to make one another feel sexy, desired and loved. It’s God’s will for your marriage.

THIS SONG COMES FROM A GENERATION WHO VIEWED THEIR STRUGGLE AS THEIR FOUNDATION…

One of the keys to a grateful heart is to never despise your seasons of struggle, but view them as your foundation.

Itโ€™s amazing how previous generations looked back on their hardest times as THE GOOD OLE DAYS.

Please watch this video and careful listen to the lyrics.

Itโ€™s jazz…

Itโ€™s Al Jarreau, who was a musical genius…

And, it ministers to me every time I hear it.

Iโ€™m so thankful to God that โ€œWE GOT BYโ€.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KIV)

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

IF YOU LIKE FAST FOOD FRIES, YOU’LL LOVE THIS…

Okay, I know it’s junk food but every now and then I love to treat myself to some delicious fast food.

We all know for years nearly all fast food chains have offered the opportunity to get more by UPSIZING your order.

Well, here’s a new UPSIZE OPTION idea that I feel can create millions in revenue for fast food restaurants and add an easy, but highly desirable option for customers.

I call it the UPSIZE PREMIUM FRIES!

What do you do?

UPSIZE PREMIUM FRIES IS LARGE FRIES PLUS FRIES IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG!

One of the surprise treats of eating a fast food meal is finding a few fries in the bottom of the bag when you’ve eaten all those in the container. So, guarantee it and everybody is happy!

BEBLESSTI-FRIED!

REMEMBER THIS THE NEXT TIME YOU SAY YOU’RE PROUD OF ANYTHING…

If you’ve read several of my blog posts, you will find I’m intentionally redundant with this message…

I’m VERY concerned with not just the character of America, but also those who call themselves Christians.

I’m concerned with how much the sin of PRIDE has been validated, justified and excused.

PRIDE IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONSIDERED BY GOD AN ABOMINATION!

Proverbs 16:5

5ย Everyone proud in heartย isย an abomination to theย Lord;
Though they joinย [a]forces, none will go unpunished.

Remember, that even though sin is sin, some sins make God more angry. That’s not hard to understand because some sins make us more angry. It would make you angry if someone mistreats you, but it make you more angry if they try to kill you.

So, PRIDE makes God more angry than some sins we may consider greater sins.

And, pride leads to the idolatry of worshipping (giving too much priority in our hearts) that which we are proud of…

Our country…

Our race…

Our heritage…

Our family…

Our children…

Our accomplishments…

Our education…

Our flag…

God has not given us permission to be proud of any of these things.

If your mind is immediately trying to find reasons to justify it, then you may be trying to impose your will over God’s word. That’s dangerous.

So, how should you feel about what you are PROUD OF?

It’s simple. From now on, anytime when you want to say…

“I’M PROUD OF____________________!”

Instead, say…

“I’M THANKFUL FOR ______________________!”

Don’t allow pride to become the accepted abomination. HOW PRIDE HAS BECOME THE ACCEPTED ABOMINATIONโ€ฆ

BE BLESSTIFIED!

HAVE YOU SINNED ‘MORE’ SINCE YOU’VE BEEN SAVED…

We are all sinners saved by grace…

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

8 (A)For by grace you have been saved (B)through faith, and that not of yourselves; (C)it is the gift of God, 9 not of (D)works, lest anyone should (E)boast.

So, think for a moment…

Think about some of the sins that you’ve committed SINCE you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

The war of flesh and spirit doesn’t go away after you’re ‘saved’…

Galatians 5:16-18 (NKJV)

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

However, when we receive the gift of His Holy Spirit are equipped to fight. You will win some battles and lose some battles, but ultimately win the war.

Galatians 5:17-23 (NKJV)

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [d]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

So think for a moment of some of the sins you’ve committed SINCE you’ve accepted Yeshua as Lord and Savior…

If you’ve been ‘saved’ for several years, you may realize that you’ve committed more sins SINCE you’ve been saved…

You may even notice that some of the sins you committed after you were saved were GREATER than those before you were saved. Yes, sin is sin, but some sins simply make God more angry…they’re called abominations. And these sins aren’t necessarily the freaky sexual sins that may often first come to mind. For example, pride is one of them…

Proverbs 16:5 (NKJV)

Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;
Though they join [a]forces, none will go unpunished.

This is why we should NEVER take the grace of God for granted.

This is a good time to stop right now and thank God for His grace and mercy, and for not dealing with any of us as we deserve.

Psalm 103:10 (NKJV)

10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

And, be honest with yourself. Did you really accept the Lord Jesus as Savior, or were you just looking for Him to make things better in your life. Did you really accept Him because you believe or did you just think it was the right thing to do? Were you curious? Did you do it because your parents made you?

If you’ve sinned greater since you’ve been saved, ask yourself did you come to Yeshua for the right reasons.

WHAT CHICK-FIL-A & THE LIQUOR STORE HAVE IN COMMON…

One of the most important things in the life of any disciple of Christ is balance.

God doesnโ€™t expect us to be so serious that no one can stand to be around us. However, He doesnโ€™t want how we choose to have fun to destroy our testimony for Him.

One of the greatest parts of contention for many Christians is drinking alcohol.

While the Bible says donโ€™t be drunk with wine (Ephesians 5:8), it also says drink a little wine for your stomachโ€™s sake. (1 Timothy 5:23)

The religious leaders called Yeshua a โ€˜winebibberโ€™ because He drank wine, yet He never got drunk (Matthew 11:19).

Psalm 104:15 says wine โ€˜gladdens the heart of manโ€™.

So, yes I will drink an occasional glass of wine or enjoy a drink during quality time with my wife, but I never get drunk.

Thereโ€™s one thing we have both noticed when we go to the liquor store to purchase wine…

In general, people who are shopping in liquor stores are happy, cheerful, friendly, polite…and did I say happy? Iโ€™m not talking about drunks either.

We’ve noticed that for the most part, the people who work in liquor stores are very friendly and accommodating.

Some church people could learn a lot from a trip to the liquor store instead of judging those who go in…especially if they are โ€˜sending someone elseโ€™ to purchase their liquor๐Ÿ˜€

The liquor store kind of reminds me of Chick-fil-A. People in Chick-fil-A are always so happy. And, the workers, for the most part are eager to tell you, โ€œMY PLEASURE!โ€

Of course every liquor store or Chick-fil-A isnโ€™t like this, but anecdotally Iโ€™ve found it to be true.

Remember, not getting enough of something is just as unhealthy as getting too much…physically, emotionally and spiritually. One of the keys to life is balance.

I THINK Iโ€™LL RELAX & STUDY MY BIBLE WITH A GLASS OF WINE (from my archives)โ€ฆ

WHEN PEOPLE USE โ€˜COUNTRYโ€™ & โ€˜GHETTOโ€™ AS AN INSULT…

Two of the most common insults in todayโ€™s society is calling someone COUNTRY or GHETTO!

People use these insults to call people…

Low-class…

Lazy…

Not fashionable…

Not โ€˜culturedโ€™…

โ€˜Slowโ€™…

Uneducated…

Sheltered…

Not progressive…

And, the list goes on and on.

However, people who look down on these demographics of our population could actually learn a lot from them…

Some of the strongest parents are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO…

Some of the strongest families are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO…

Some of the most resilient and focused students are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO…

Some people in the COUNTRY and GHETTO have the most grit, determination, commitment to those who are important in their lives.

Some of those with the strongest integrity and character are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO…

Some of the strongest values are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO.

And most of all, some of the strongest FAITH in GOD is in the COUNTRY and GHETTO!

I grew up in a small town that had many of the big-city problems on a smaller scale, such as drugs for example. Everyone knows the correlation between drugs sand crime.

However, there was one difference. When I grew up, there were also drug addicts of every race just as in the city, but EVERYBODY KNEW EVERYBODY in my small town. So, no matter how bad their drug habit was, they kept some sort of job to support their habit. And remember, smaller towns have fewer job opportunities. The result…less drug-related crime. Also, that sense of community led to people helping one another when in need rather than just turning their nose up at them. Those are distinct cultural differences.

As much as people in big look down on โ€˜trailer parksโ€™. In smaller towns, those people who live in the smallest most humble trailers arenโ€™t homeless.

One of the things that attracts people to โ€˜gangโ€™ culture is the sense of belonging and loyalty. How much loyalty and what sense of belonging do you find in corporate America, politics, manufacturing, education, or in some of the most โ€˜affluentโ€™ and โ€˜upper-classโ€™ neighborhoods?

Some of the strongest family ties are in the COUNTRY and GHETTO. There are people who work two and three jobs to make sure their families are taken care of.

Many people label the ghetto as being filled with โ€˜deadbeatโ€˜ dads because they say they arenโ€™t there for there kids and donโ€™t support their children.

However, I canโ€™t count how many โ€˜professionalsโ€™ who are โ€˜deadbeatโ€™ parents because even though they have the same address as their children, they are absent in their lives as they prioritize career over family…sometimes throwing money at their children to replace true parenting.

Many country and ghetto families keep their heads to the sky…knowing the only one they can truly trust with their lives, families, safety and future is God.

Remember what the Bible says…

James 2:5 (NKJV)

5 Listen, my beloved brethren: (A)Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be (B)rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom (C)which He promised to those who love Him?

I was raised in a small town and protect many of those values that were instilled in me. Iโ€™m unapologetically COUNTRY!

BE BLESSTIFIED!

HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THE ‘ONE’ THING JESUS PRAYED FOR US JUST BEFORE HE WAS BETRAYED…

John Chapter 17 records the real โ€˜Lordโ€™s Prayerโ€™, as Matthew 6 gives us the model prayer. In John, He prays for Himself, His disciples and finally those who believe in Him through the disciples words…us.

It’s interesting of all things He could pray about, in verses 20 through 24 He prayed for…

Unity… Agreement… ONENESS!

Why?

Because three of the most powerful forces on this earth are…

LOVE…

HATE…

and…

UNITY!

It would be impossible for the Gospel to spread, the church to grow and families to survive without unity.

Notice what the bible says about agreement…

Genesis 11:6 (NKJV)

6ย And theย Lordย said, โ€œIndeedย the peopleย ARE ONE and they all haveย one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that theyย propose to do will be withheld from them.

Amos 3:3 (NKJV)

3ย Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

1 Corinthians 1:10 (NKJV)

10ย Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,ย that you allย [a]speak the same thing, andย thatย there be noย [b]divisions among you, butย thatย you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The fact is that unity is powerful that it works for both good and evil… THE POWER OF UNITY WORKS FOR BOTH GOOD ANDย EVILโ€ฆ

It was through ‘agreement’ and ‘unity’ that the devil was able to provoke rebellion in heaven leading to him and those who united with him being kicked out…

Revelation 12:7-9 (NKJV)

7ย And war broke out in heaven:ย Michael and his angels foughtย with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,ย 8ย but theyย [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found forย [b]them in heaven any longer.ย 9ย Soย the great dragon was cast out,ย that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan,ย who deceives the whole world;ย he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

However, the ultimate agreement is in heaven…

1 John 5:7 (NKJV)

7ย For there are three that bear witnessย [a]in heaven: the Father,ย the Word, and the Holy Spirit;ย and these three are one.

So, if our Savior was intentional enough to pray for agreement, I encourage you to be intentional to specifically pray for agreement EVER DAY in…

Your marriage…

Your family…

In your local church…

In the Body of Christ…

In your government…

On your job.

And especially pray for unity with God… That you are ONE with Him and He is ONE with you, just as He is ONE with our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah. Pray for this every day, and if possible every time you pray.

Notice how many times the Lord says or infers ONE in His prayer for us…

John 17:20-26 (NKJV)

20ย โ€œI do not pray for these alone, but also for those whoย [a]will believe in Me through their word;ย 21ย that they all may be ONE asย You, Father,ย areย in Me, and I in You; that they also may be ONE in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.ย 22ย And theย glory which You gave Me I have given them,ย that they may be ONE just as We are ONE:ย 23ย I in them, and You in Me;ย that they may be made perfect in ONE, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.24ย โ€œFather, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me;ย for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.ย 25ย O righteous Father!ย The world has not known You, butย I have known You; andย these have known that You sent Me.ย 26ย And I have declared to them Your name, and will declareย it,ย that the loveย with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.โ€

Remember, this isn’t just a prayer, it’s the Lord’s passion. And, it should be ours too.

WHEN YOU WONDER WHY GOD DOESN’T DO SOMETHING TO ‘MAKE’ MORE PEOPLE SUPPORT YOU…

When you’re passionately pursuing your God given purpose…

When you’ve invested your time, money and reputation into what you believe God has called you to do…

When you’ve ‘put in the work’ hoping for certain results…

When you have ‘put yourself out there’ and taken risks, even having some of your efforts fail so you can learn, grow, redefine, and define your work…

You can sometimes feel frustrated when you aren’t getting the support, encouragement, affirmation, and acknowledgment you may think you have earned.

Okay. I’ll put myself out there for in a transparent moment, and maybe some of you will admit this with me…

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY GOD DOESN’T ‘TOUCH MORE HEARTS’ TO ACCEPT, SUPPORT, RECEIVE OR SHARE YOUR EFFORTS?

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY GOD DOESN’T DO SOMETHING TO CONVINCE MORE PEOPLE TO HELP YOU OR JUMP ON BOARD WITH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING, SINGING, WRITING, OR DOING?

I have.

I’ve thought those thoughts.

This blog is my ‘youngest child’, and I passionately want it to be read by and a blessing to millions. I want the world to be inspired by my wifeโ€™s music.

I have many personal efforts in my life that I felt would have garnered more support. There are times I’ve felt overlooked, ignored, unappreciated, and abandoned by some of the people who I thought would support me the most outside of family.

Have you?

When we have low moments, we aren’t alone. Some of God’s most anointed prophets sometimes after great moments of victory were left feeling abandoned and all alone…

1 Kings 19:9-10 (NKJV)

And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, โ€œWhat are you doing here, Elijah?โ€

10 So he said, โ€œI have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.โ€

Even after performing supernatural miracles, Yeshua the Messiah, had many to desert Him, as stated in John Chapter 6 verses 66 and 67...

66 From that time many of His disciples went [a]back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, โ€œDo you also want to go away?โ€

And don’t forget that one, final human moment when the Lord said…

Matthew 27:46 (NKJV)

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, โ€œEli, Eli, lama sabachthani?โ€ that is, โ€œMy God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?โ€

So, as I was experiencing a personal moment of ‘why won’t God touch more hearts to help me’ in some of my kingdom and personal efforts, it occurred to me, and I sincerely believed He dropped this in my spirit…

IF GOD DOESN’T FORCE PEOPLE TO ACCEPT OR HONOR HIM OR HIS CAUSE…

HE’S NOT GOING TO FORCE PEOPLE TO ACCEPT OR HONOR ME OR MY CAUSE!

God allows people to chose for themselves.

Yes, we plant the seeds. Yes, we do the work. Yes, God can even manipulate situations around us trying to help us decide…but the decision is always ours.

Being rejected was a prophesied sign of the Messiah. It was a core part of His suffering…

Matthew 13:53-58 (NKJV)

53 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there. 54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, โ€œWhere did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenterโ€™s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, [a]Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?โ€ 57 So they were offended at Him.

But Jesus said to them, โ€œA prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.โ€ 58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

And, a core but often ignored part of our purpose is to share in His suffering, sometimes by being rejected. After all, it’s only fair…

1 Peter 4:13 (NKJV)

13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christโ€™s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Philippians 1:29 (NKJV)

29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Remember, the people who contended against Yeshua went back to their homes on the day of the crucifixion thinking they had one…and the Lord ALLOWED IT.

The fact is that if Jesus can patiently wait for His glory, we can wait for ours.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN THEY SAY โ€˜YOU GOTTA LOOK THE PARTโ€™…

I remember two different conversations with two different ‘professionals’ that said the same thing, and both made me stop and think.

Years ago there was a gentleman who was promoted to be one of the many Vice Presidents of a company at which I worked. He had previously been a director and he lived in the same subdivision as me. He was excited about his new position. A few months later, as we was settling into his role I asked him how were things going. He said, “They are going well. I’m looking for a new house that ‘fits the role'”. Hmmmmm. House that fits the role. The has he was living in was already very nice.

Fast forward to after I entered the profession of education. I was talking to a young man who had recently been promoted to the position of Assistant Principal. In a conversation about what he did over the weekend, he mentioned shopping for another car that ‘looked the part’ and ‘fit the role’.

WHAT DOES ‘LOOK THE PART’ and ‘FIT THE ROLE’ MEAN?

It’s amazing how much emphasis that people in our western culture places on appearances.

Where should an upper level executive live?

What should an administrator in education drive?

How should a preacher dress?

There are people who make a good living crafting the ‘images’ of public figures. However the people who really know them look on and think, ‘who is that’?

Should you be able to tell a person’s role on their job by their vehicles in the parking lot?

Are we that shallow?

Yes.

That’s why people will allow themselves into the slavery of enormous debt because they want to portray a certain image. An image. An image.

Hmmmmm. Portray an image.

If we find ourselves driven to pursue AN IMAGE, we are dangerously close to a subtle form of idolatry. Even if that image is ourselves. Remember, idols don’t all have to be GRAVEN images…

Colossians 3:5 NKJV

5ย Therefore put to deathย your members which are on the earth:ย fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness,ย which is idolatry.

The bible says that borrowers are slaves to those whom they owe…

Proverbs 22:7 (NKJV)

7ย Theย rich rules over the poor,
And the borrowerย isย servant to the lender.

Both gentlemen mentioned above, even though they were both in nice cars and vehicles, were diving deeper in debt, not because it was something they needed or even wanted…but because of how it looked.

Have you ever made a decision because of how you felt you looked to others? In a sense, it’s chasing emptiness. If you drive past someone in a very expensive car, and they think, WOW! What value did that thought add to your life? If someone visits your huge, elaborately decorated home and tells you, WOW! You’ve done quite well for yourself. It is beautiful! What value did that add to your life?

If you get a promotion based on appearances, does that lead to more and more pressure to keep up this ‘image’ you’ve created for yourself?

When you think about it…it chasing emptiness. It’s chasing wind.

Ecclesiastes 1:14 (NKJV)

14ย I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, allย isย vanity and grasping for the wind.

Be very careful of what image you are working to conform to…

Romans 8:29 (KNJV)

29ย For whomย He foreknew,ย He also predestinedย to beย conformed to the image of His Son,ย that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God will walk with you if you let Him?

How?

Here you go…

Galatians 5:16-23 (NKJV)

16ย I say then:ย Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.ย 17ย Forย the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another,ย so that you do not do the things that you wish.ย 18ย Butย if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19ย Nowย the works of the flesh are evident, which are:ย [a]adultery,ย [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,ย 20ย idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,ย 21ย envy,ย [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also toldย youย in time past, thatย those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22ย Butย the fruit of the Spirit isย love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,ย goodness,ย faithfulness,ย 23ย [d]gentleness, self-control.ย Against such there is no law.

BLOGGERS & INDEPENDENT GOSPEL ARTISTS ARE ENTREPRENEURS TOO…

If anything is an exercise in faith…entrepreneurship is a prime example.

My wife and I opened a beauty supply store in the mid 90โ€™s called Perms Plus. We were in our 20โ€™s. We learned a lot and the business lasted about 3 years.

But, that wasnโ€™t our last entrepreneurial endeavor. In 2015 we decide to invest in our anointing, talent and creativity. We researched how to turn songs I had written into radio-quality recordings and went to work.

We hired an entertainment attorney, producer, publicist, radio promoter, photographer, makeup artist, stylist, and started a publishing company called Al-Go-Rhythm Music to be the machine behind Mechelle Johnson Music. In short, an independent artist is a small business.

While working our music, I purchased my WordPress domain and launched this blog. Since then Iโ€™ve invested countless hours and dollars promoting my site hoping to establish BEBLESSTIFIED.COM as a trusted resource for inspiration, edification, exhortation, admonition, entertainment, and hopefully salvation from a fresh, โ€˜I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT LIKE THAT BEFOREโ€™ perspective.

Both of these efforts are just as much entrepreneurial endeavors as our beauty supply store years ago.

So, when people share their financial resources in response to any independent artistโ€™s or bloggerโ€™s work, they arenโ€™t giving to charity, but have received and benefited from a product and service of great value. You are producing Godโ€™s intangible tangibles that touch the mind, heart, soul and body.

And, when the music and writing is Christ centered it qualities for the biblical command to support ministry…

1 Corinthians 9:14 (NKJV)

14 Even so (A)the Lord has commanded (B)that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.

Galatians 6:6 (NKJV)

6 (A)Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

So, any bloggers or indie Gospel artists reading this piece, donโ€™t forget that you are releasing perpetual seeds into the earth that can influence, entertain, encourage and bless people for generations to come. You are working hard and sacrificing your time and money just as any other entrepreneur does.

If someone blesses you financially…youโ€™ve earned it. Just stay focused on the integrity of Gods word in everything you do, and keep working!

Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV)

6 (A)In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [a]direct your paths.

WHEN PEOPLE CLAIM THEY WOULD DIE FOR CHRIST BUT WONโ€™T SPEAK UP FOR HIM FOR FEAR IF LOSING THEIR JOB…

Many Christians are quick to proclaim they will die for Christ, but when confronted with day-to-day situations they are silent for fear of losing their job, comfort, convenience or even reputation in ‘the church’.

And, many times, itโ€™s people who call themselves believers who are responsible for firing someone for standing for the cause of Christ.

Think about this. Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael, otherwise known as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were exiles in Babylon, slaves, land who were in a sense chosen to serve the King…Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel Chapter 3). When confronted with a choice to go against God commandments or die, they chose what could have been certain death. They didn’t make excuses.

However, people today say…

“Well, God understands.”

“You have to have your your job.”

“God gives you common sense.”

If God expected Hananiah, Azariah, Mishael and Daniel to refuse to compromise at the risk of death, how do you think He feels about us in regard to remaining silent because we don’t want to lose our jobs?

Revelation 2:10 (NKJV)

10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

How many times do people compromise their values for an ungodly work culutre?

How many times have people been told don’t speak up or stand publicly for certain issues because or you will be terminated?

I once made a statement in defense of Godly marriage between a man and a woman. More than one person close to me said I should stop doing so because it might prevent my wife’s music, which I wrote, from being played on the radio because of those who live that lifestyle in the industry. When I had a job in corporate America, I was advised to remain silent on certain issues because it could prevent me from being promoted or cause me to be terminated.

If God expected our examples in the bible to be faithful unto death, then I’m quite sure He expects us to be faithful unto termination…and trust Him with what happens.

I’ve even been advised to be very careful about what I write in my blog because it could affect my position as a teacher.

People are quick to say I WILL DIE FOR CHRIST, but prove otherwise when they aren’t even willing to give up comfort and convenience for Him.

Remember what our Lord warned before He went to the cross…

John 16:2 (NKJV)

They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

WHY I DONโ€™T WANT TO WIN BIG IN THE LOTTERY…

picsart_02-15-01542020194.jpg

I have bought a lottery ticket from time to time. I don’t even think it’s always wrong if you are responsible and faithful in your giving to God (for more on that, please read OKAY, Iโ€™LL โ€˜TAKE A CHANCEโ€™ ON DISCUSSINGโ€ฆIS ALL GAMBLING SIN?ย ), but thatโ€™s not what this post is about.

Like most people, I would enjoy unlimited financial resources. And, itโ€™s not unGodly to be financially established as long as it wasnโ€™t gained in an unGodly manner. Even more so, I want anything that I do well, especially well enough to bless my bless my family financially, to bring honor and glory to His name…and not shame.

God even shows us through the Psalmist that He encourages us to ask Him to bless us with prosperity…

Psalm 118:25 (NKJV)

25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.

But, notice that the Psalmist asks that the LORD send that prosperity. Can the LORD bless someone through the chance of the lottery. Well, God can do anything He chooses. However, there many in the Body of Christ, as well as those who arenโ€™t, who are convinced that He wouldnโ€™t.

God told us through the Apostle Paul that even though some things arenโ€™t necessarily wrong, there are some situations when theyโ€™re wrong for us…

1 Corinthians 10:23 ย (NKJV)

23 All things are lawful for me,[a] but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me,[b] but not all things edify.

He also letโ€™s us know that we should be careful of our freedoms that can โ€˜offendโ€™ someone weaker in the faith.

1 Corinthians 8:9-13 ย (NKJV)

9 But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak. 10 For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idolโ€™s temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols? 11 And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? 12 But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

All that being said, thatโ€™s why the more I think about it, the more I donโ€™t want to win BIG in the lottery.

I donโ€™t want anything to steal Godโ€™s glory for what happens in my life.

If Iโ€™m blessed financially, I want it to be through the gifts He has placed inside me, and through what He releases from me…and I want Him to receive the glory.

God said let those who share the Gospel live of the Gospel. This isn’t a guarantee of riches, but it’s not a curse of poverty either…

13ย Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eatย of the thingsย of theย temple, and those who serve at the altar partake ofย the offerings ofย the altar?ย 14ย Even soย the Lord has commandedย that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.

I have more confidence in the seeds I’ve sown the word and song than some lucky numbers that would steal God’s glory.

If I were to win millions in the lottery, itโ€™s possible that too many would focus on where my money came from rather than my ministry.

If I were to win millions in the lottery, it could weaken the effectiveness of BEBLESSTIFIED.COM, every lesson, every sermon, every song Iโ€™ve written…it could weaken my ministry.

And, thatโ€™s simply not worth it.

5 REASONS I DON’T WANT TO BE CALLED ‘REVEREND’…

I was ordained into the ministry back in 1996, and I take my assignment very seriously.

Even though I was ordained in a Baptist church I prefer to be simply referred to as a Disciple of Christ (Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus).

There are many titles by which people address ministers, one of which is Reverend. Personally, I prefer NOT to be called by that title. Here are 5 reasons why.

1. HOLY AND REVEREND IS ‘HIS’ NAME

Psalm 111:9 (KJV)

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name

Psalm number 119 in the King James Version states that God’s name is holy and ‘reverend’. The word reverend in the passage comes from the Hebrew word ‘Yare’, which means to fear, revere, be afraid, to stand in awe of, be awed. Neither I nor my name are not to be feared, revered, afraid or in awe of…that is reserved for God. I also know that one definition of blasphemy is putting oneself equal to God, of which is what the Pharisees often falsely accused the Lord. I prefer not for my name nor myself to be made in anyway imply equality to God…especially as a religious title.

2. GOD WARNED US ABOUT RELIGIOUS TITLES

Yeshua hurled a long list of rebukes and woes at the religious leaders in Matthew 23, one of which directly addressed religious titles…

Matthew 23:6-11 (NKJV)

They love the [a]best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, โ€˜Rabbi, Rabbi.โ€™ But you, do not be called โ€˜Rabbiโ€™; for One is your [b]Teacher, [c]the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.

The Lord clearly rebukes the religious leaders concerning being called RABBI, FATHER, or even TEACHER (which could be equated to Dr. today) however we know that even though REVEREND wasn’t a religious title of that day, but originated in the Catholic church that it is still within the context of that rebuke. I have heard some people contend, we call our male parents father, but that’s not a religious title. No matter how we may try to excuse or justify it, it’s still easier to just leave it alone.

3. THE APOSTLES ONLY REFERRED TO ONE ANOTHER BY NAME

When you read the letters of the Apostles, you will notice how they referred to themselves, one another and other elders and church leaders only by name. They didn’t refer to each other as Apostle, Rabbi, Father, Pope or any other title, but simply by name…

2 Peter 3:15 (NKJV)

15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvationโ€”as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,

James 1:1 (NKJV)

James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,

To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad:

Greetings.

Timothy 1 (NKJV)

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,

To Timothy, a true son in the faith:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Titus 1:4 (NKJV)

To Titus, a true son in our common faith:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and [a]the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

Revelation 1:9 (NKJV)

I, John, [a]both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I could go on and on, but I invite you to please go back and read through the epistles and notice how the apostles referred to one another and other church leaders…by name only, or brother.

4. THE APOSTLES REFUSED TO BE ‘WORSHIPED’

Acts 14:11-15 (NKJV)

11 Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, โ€œThe gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!โ€ 12 And Barnabas they called [a]Zeus, and Paul, [b]Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. 13 Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out 15 and saying, โ€œMen, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

Acts 10:25-26 (NKJV)

25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, โ€œStand up; I myself am also a man.โ€

Even though the bible says that honor should be given to those who are ministers of the Gospel, there is still a thin line between honor and worship. It’s very easy to allow people to ‘feed our egos’ if we aren’t careful. It’s easy for honor and respect to morph into worship.

5. THE ANGELS DIDN’T ALLOW MEN TO WORSHIP THEM

When John received The Revelation of Yeshua he was in such great awe of the angle that he attempted to bow down to him, but the angel quickly told him NO…

Revelation 19:10 (NKJV)

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, โ€œSee that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.โ€

Revelation 22:9 (NKJV)

9 Then he said to me, โ€œSee that you do not do that. [a]For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.โ€

Yes, the bible says that elders are worthy of double honor, but that doesn’t mean that we should accept that what is reserved for God.

1 Timothy 5:17 (NKJV)

17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

As I said earlier, as much as some leaders can justify being called REVEREND or being put on a pedestal…I would rather just leave it alone.

When you put preachers, pastors, or any leader on a pedestal, you can be discouraged when we prove prove how human we are…when we prove we donโ€™t have it all together. EVEN THE MOST EFFECTIVE LEADERS DONโ€™T โ€˜HAVE IT ALL TOGETHERโ€™โ€ฆ

What do you think?

BE BLESSTIFIED!

WHEN PEOPLE WANT TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF A HERITAGE THAT ERASED MY HISTORY…

As the heated debate over removing Confederate monuments and symbols from public entities in America continues, I find it amazing that people are passionate about preserving the history of a culture that mastered erasing the history of another…

Names…erased!

Language…erased!

Traditions…erased !

All connections to family, friends and past…ERASED!

PLUS, SLAVES WERE FORBIDDEN TO LEARN TO READ! WHY? TO CONTROL WHAT WAS LEARNED AND WHAT WASN’T LEARNED!

Even implying that slavery introduced all Africans to Christianity attempts to erase the fact that many Africans were already disciples. It portrayed slave masters as SAVIORS delivering all slaves from heathenism.

However, the bible records the fact that the Gospel reached Africa before it reached Europe, and there were Africans who practiced Judaism.

Acts 8:28-38 (NKJV)

26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, โ€œArise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.โ€ This is [a]desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, โ€œGo near and overtake this chariot.โ€

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, โ€œDo you understand what you are reading?โ€

31 And he said, โ€œHow can I, unless someone guides me?โ€ And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this:

โ€œHe was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.โ€

34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, โ€œI ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?โ€ 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, โ€œSee, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?โ€

37 [b]Then Philip said, โ€œIf you believe with all your heart, you may.โ€

And he answered and said, โ€œI believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.โ€

38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

Acts 2:5-12 (NKJV)

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, โ€œLook, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own [a]language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and [b]Arabsโ€”we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.โ€ 12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, โ€œWhatever could this mean?โ€

WHY ETERNITY NEEDS NO ‘BEGINNING’…

I recently noticed a picture (meme) circulating on social media that shows the late Stephen Hawking, theoretical physicist and well-known atheist, featuring one of his quotes, “There was nothing before the Big Bang.” Most people know that many scientists assert that the universe BEGAN with a BIG BANG.

For Mr. Hawking to say there was nothing before the Big Bang still leaves to question what was that NOTHING, and how could NOTHING CAUSE AN EXPLOSION?

This is why I define science as our attempt to give a physical, biological or chemical explanation to a spiritual world. It’s how God allows to spiritual to manifest itself so it can be perceived within the ‘physical’ world and the realm of ‘time’.

This is why I believe that to some, the intelligence that God gave man to dominate the earth has become a curse to some…WHEN INTELLIGENCE HAS BECOME A CURSEโ€ฆ

So, I respond to the statement that “Before the Big Bang there was nothing”, with, “Eternity and God need no beginning”.

“In the beginning…” was written as a point of reference for the benefit of those of us who exist within the continuum of time.

Genesis 1 (NKJV)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

God is exists outside of ‘time’ and needs no ‘beginning’. Notice how the Complete Jewish Bible refers to God…WHY GOD DOES NOT NEED AN ORIGIN STORYโ€ฆ

Psalm 90:2 (CJB)

Before the mountains were born,
before you had formed the earth and the world,
from eternity past to eternity future
you are God.

Notice how God described Himself to Moses as ‘I AM’…

Exodus 3:14-15 (NKJV)

14 And God said to Moses, โ€œI AM WHO I AM.โ€ And He said, โ€œThus you shall say to the children of Israel, โ€˜I AM has sent me to you.โ€™ โ€ 15 Moreover God said to Moses, โ€œThus you shall say to the children of Israel: โ€˜The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.โ€™

I AM! ‘I’ is a personal pronoun and ‘AM’ is a being verb. God is THE eternal BEING and defined Himself as a BEING verb. Wow! That is no coincidence.

I’ve stated in other articles that our ‘spirits’ temporarily’ exist outside of ‘time’ when we’re in a deep sleep or under anesthesia. We can doze off or be put to sleep and not notice the time that elapsed while we were ‘out’. Also notice the fact that even though we were all alive and aware, our minds can’t remember the day we were born or when we reacted to stimuli when we were in the womb.

God has promised us eternal life and most of the time we think of an eternal future. However, God IS! He stands outside of time experiencing the past and the future as if it were happening right now.

Isaiah 40:22 (NKJV)

22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

God is invisible, and it’s possible that the force and expanse that science wants to call ‘the universe’ is God. Even their ‘physical laws’ correspond with God’s spiritual essence…Energy can’t be created or destroyed, that’s God’s essence. If you believe energy can’t be created, then you can believe God didn’t have to be created. If you can see how the same internet can be ‘everywhere at the same time’, accessed in your bedroom, Texas, Aruba, or in space at the same time…then you can see how God can be everywhere at the same time.

May the Lord God of Israel from Eternity Past to Eternity Future bless you and keep you in the name and authority of Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ).

So, going back to the BIG BANG. When God created the universe and ‘said’ “Let there be…” I’m sure there was a physical manifestation of sound and an incredible release of energy in an explosion. To me, the BIG BAND only confirms God lives.

A 40 SECOND WORD FOR THE HUMBLE (A BEBLESSTIFED BACKYARD BLESSING)…

This is another one of my earliest pieces,

A WORD TO THE HUMBLE

If they praise you now, if to you they bow,

you already have your reward.

But, every time you bring glory to the King,

in heaven yours is stored!

Don’t set your treasures on earthly pleasures,

they will only waste away.

The love of Jesus is enough to please us

if we just let Him have His way.

Matthew 6:1-2 (NKJV)

6 โ€œTake heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

Matthew 6:19-21 (NKJV)

19 โ€œDo not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

7 WAYS MEN OVERCOMPENSATE FOR…

I know you’ve noticed it.

If you’re a man you might have done it.

You may be DOING IT.

Overcompensating: Taking measures that could be seen as excessive to attempt to correct a self-perceived weakness, problem or error.

Have you ever noticed how many men overcompensate with…

BIG TRUCKS…

BIG MOUTHS…

BIG MUSCLES…

BIG MONEY…

BIG GUNS…

BIG EGOS…

AND, THE CLAIM OF BIG ________S!

Instead of prioritizing having a BIG, CLEAN HEART!

Psalm 51:10 (NKNV)

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

I never thought we would live in an age when both men AND women would proudly boast of having BIG BALLS!

Do you know anyone guilty of overcompensating for what should be a BIG HEART? Is it you?
