WHEN YOU WANT MORE RESPECT FROM OTHERS THAN YOU YOURSELF GIVE TO GOD…

Here’s a couple of yes or no questions to ask yourself.

Are you satisfied with the level of respect that you give to God?

Do you think that God is satisfied with the level of love and respect that you give to Him?

Husbands want their wives to respect them…

Wives want their husbands to respect them…

Parents want their children to respect them…

Children want their parents to respect them…

Employers want their employees to respect them…

Employees want their employers to respect them…

Leaders want their constituents to respect them…

Constituents want their leaders to respect them…

We want people to respect our race…

We want people to respect our heritage…

We want people to respect our rights.

But, how often do we stop and ask ourselves how much respect do we give to the God of our salvation?

You know what I believe? I honestly believe He sometimes allows…

Husbands to disrespect wives…

Wives to disrespect husbands…

Parents to disrespect children…

Employers to disrespect employees…

Employees to disrespect employers…

Leaders to disrespect their constituents…

Constituents to disrespect leaders…

He allows us to disrespect one another so we can see how HE feels when we…

Disrespect…

Disobey…

Dishonor…

Betray…

Ignore…

Him…

Or when we put Him to open shame.

Remember, if we aren’t careful we can be guilty of unintentionally trying to convince God to worship us and our will rather than us worshipping His will.

If we aren’t careful we can be guilty of the idolatry of worshipping ourselves. And, you know who got kicked out of Heaven for that…

Isaiah 14:12-14  (NKJV)

12 “How you are fallen from heaven,
[a]Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,

You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’

“I WOULD RATHER LOOK CRAZY THAN GO CRAZY!” #publicpraise

The video clip is from July 2018.

Praise is a weapon of spiritual warfare! Notice how God fought for His people when they sung praise to God in the midst of overwhelming opposition.

2 Chronicles 20:20-23 (NKJV)

2So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:

“Praise the Lord,
For His mercy endures forever.”

22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they [a]had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

That’s why I’m not ashamed to lift up my hands and praise God not just in church…not just in my home… but in public!

I don’t care of people think I look crazy because God deserves the praise and I can’t make it through each day on my own.

I would rather look crazy than go crazy!

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS SPECIFICALLY TO SOLDIERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS (1 Powerful Verse)…

Just like education and medicine, I believe that law enforcement is a ministry. I believe that some people are anointed by God for that purpose. And, just like education, medicine or pastorship, not everyone who enters law enforcement belongs there, or handles it as God intends.

There’s good and bad in every profession.

Have you ever notice what the bible says specifically to those who are in this line of work? John the Baptist, who was a prophet ordained by God from birth, gave instructions to soldiers (who also operated in the role of police at the time) what must they do.

This was His response…

Luke 3:14 (NKJV)

14 Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?”

So he said to them, “Do not [a]intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”

This is even more relevant to those in the military or law enforcement who claim to be Christians. That means you have to do things differently.

When dealing with the worst criminal, you can never get down to their level in language or behavior, but leave behind a testimony of the love and authority of God.

Before you enter any profession, as Yeshua said, “count the cost”.

Luke 14:28 (NKJV)

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it

WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMY, OR SOMEONE WHO MISTREATS YOU…

One of the most challenging requirements from God is to pray for our enemies and those who mistreat us.

Matthew 5:43-48  (NKJV)

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 [a]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [b]brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the [c]tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

This is a requirement and not a suggestion. But, we all know sometimes our feelings don’t align with what God expects us to do.

So, what do you say when you pray for your enemies and antagonists, especially when you don’t feel like it?

Here’s a suggestion…

Pray that God softens their heart to His LOVE, His WILL and His WORD through peace if possible.

Then ask God to FORGIVE them, and reveal to YOU any way YOU may be WRONG, through peace.

Remember, He doesn’t love them any less than He loves you. When someone sins against you they are always sinning against God first by not meeting His righteous standards.

Once an enemy repents, they are no longer an enemy of either you or God.

It’s not a matter of your enemy seeing things your way, but both you and your enemy seeing things God’s way.

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE BEING ‘PETTY’ LIKE PEPPA PIG…

Okay, I admit that my granddaughter has me hooked on Peppa Pig.

I love the way the cartoon realistically teaches Emotional Intelligence.

Peppa can be pretty ‘petty’ sometimes, like in the clip above when her friend is able to whistle while she can’t. Peppa hangs up on her! Now, that’s real!

But, the first step in controlling our emotions is being aware of them.

We all notice that moment when we know we’re being petty, unnecessarily difficult, disrespectful, mean…ungodly.

That’s when we need to stop in our tracks and adjust our behavior. That’s what God expects us to do…

Colossians 3:8 (NKJV)

8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

1 Peter 2:1 (NKJV)

2 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NKJV)

31 (A)Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, [a]clamor, and (B)evil speaking be put away from you, (C)with all malice. 32 And (D)be kind to one another, tenderhearted, (E)forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

God doesn’t permit us to allow our emotions to control us. He gives us the power and responsibility to control our emotions.
